Would the community support a C implementation?

I don't care if it's in C or not, but cross-platform would be fantastic as it currently can't run on my Mac. -
I've never been able to get Wine to work with anything in the past, for some odd reason. I'll try it though. EDIT: Didn't work.

Tried to run Eclipse through Crossover (Windows XP and Windows 98) and I get "Runtime error '430': Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface" FAQ says: "If mentions an automation error then you either have dodgy drivers or, if you get it running the client, your might not have a working sound card at all." Any way to get around this? Has anyone got it working on other simulation software? I haven't bought a Windows computer yet so I can't do anything else at the moment.
