Well hopefully he'll do well to stick to this project and get a decent game going. Games need to be designed in such a way now, that it's fun to play if you're the only player online.
Crystalshire is an amazing game when you're playing in a group of 5 or more, but there's never anybody online so it sucks. -
Why…? You spent a long time making godborn. It got cancelled. Silverdale was in the work for ages, it got cancelled, then brought back, and cancelled, and brought back, and now it's merging with another game which was being worked on.
Every time you do this, people wait in anticipation for a game that never really gets properly released, and gets cancelled, only for you to bring it back again a few months later.
How long are we going to wait for this version of Godborn, and how long before it gets cancelled so you can bring back Silverdale again...
You're a brilliant artist, game design is great, mapping is the best I've ever seen, but it really annoys me that your games NEVER succeed. for more than a couple months.
So what happens with Silverdale now? -

Deloria Origins requires novice and expert mappers to finish off the world of Deloria.
You may apply by posting in this thread with examples of work.
**About Deloria Origins**
As some of you may have guessed, Deloria Origins is a new spin-off of the classic Deloria Online game originally created by Jeff O'Blenis (Nexemis).
For the passed few years, I have ran and maintained versions of the classic Deloria Online, including the original style Deloria Online 2.2 version (Later renamed simply to Deloria Online), as well as a more progressed and developed version which was released more recently (Deloria Online 2).
Unfortunately, due to my hard drive failing and all my data being lost, I have started again with a very new version of Deloria Online.
Deloria Origins uses a whole new gaming engine (Eclipse Origins) and a brand new graphics set (Breeze Revolution) which gives old players back the world of Deloria, in a fresh new style with tons of new features including Quests, Pets, Spells and Skills.
With all these new features pretty much complete, I am now moving on to the world development phase, which involves mapping out the playable world of Deloria, starting with the famous Town of Collingwood.
**Example of graphics/maps:**

All that's left to do in terms of mapping is trees and detailing on surface areas, and all the dungeons. There's a fair few dungeon maps that need doing. Probably about 4 dungeons, with 3-4 levels each, using 100x100 size maps.
I've extended the tileset a bit with my own additions. And I'll be making a lot more things too like wooden cabins for the snow town, and some waterfalls.

My inspiration always comes from Robin. I love his style of design :)
I don't feel Salty at all, great thing about using Robins work is you know in 6 months time he'll have changed it anyway :) -
I got somebody to log on and they saw the pet walking normally. Not sure if it was because I'm running server and client on same machine.
Regardless, I've ripped out the pet system and will be re-adding it again from Lightnings tutorial. -
A late reaction. I have a life outside of computers, I can reply whenever I feel fit to reply. I probably visit this site 3 times a month.

Although the 125cc engine is something that's often looked down on by riders of say, 600, 750, or 1100cc motorbike riders, it's not uncommon even for somebody with a full licence to take advantage of some of the 125cc motorcycles benefits.
Such benefits include cheap insurance, cheap road tax, and extremely economical. Some people who only have a motorcycle licence, who use their bikes for work often choose to keep a 125cc for small commutes and town/city riding, and use their larger engined bikes for long distance riding.
OneTwoFive is a website dedicated to riders of motorcycles, scooters, and off-road/trials bikes that have an engine capacity of up to 125cc (That means we welcome 50cc, 80cc and 100cc riders too!).
The site will generate news feeds for new models, racing, and general biking news. It will have a gallery website for users to upload all their pictures too.
The website will arrange meets and shows for members, and give advice and tips to new riders.
We will also have a support section, run by experienced riders and qualified mechanics.
After 12 months of running, we are looking to open a subscription service which will give members discounts from dealers of parts and accessories. We have already started to build up a relationship with Rampdale Insurance Brokers.
Please note, the website is new, and is under heavy construction.

Wasn't there a LOT of bugs in the developers edition? Have they been fixed in this edit?
-
Right… if you don't have anything useful to say, say nothing...
I only asked if there was something better, or a way to get SadScript to send strings. I don't need people to tell me what I should do with my engine. We're in the 21st century, most people have fast enough PCs to not even notice lag. -
Since SadScript doesn't support the ability to create and send strings, I was wondering if there was something similar I could use in my engine that has more flexibility in terms of sending variables.
I am turning my game into a closed-source creation utility and I want to give my users more control over the engine. -
When I spawn a pet, it doesn't walk normally, it jumps from one tile to the other. Was wondering if there was something I was doing wrong.

**Deloria Origins** is looking for an interface designer to recreate an entirely new user interface for the game.
**About Deloria Origins**
Deloria Origins is a recreation of the famous Deloria Online, originally created by Jeff O'Blenis (aka Nexemis).
For the passed 4 years I have maintained and developed the original style Deloria Online 2.2 and released a couple of newer versions with new features and maps.
This time around, I am recreating the old world using better graphics, a better engine, and with somebody's help, a nicer user interface.
I have begun creating the world of Deloria, but before I release it for testing I need a few more things.
**Ideas for Interface**
The old Deloria Online had a distinctive blue interface. I want to try and keep with that theme and go with something blue, simple, but appealing to the eye.
The interface will consist of the main game interface, main menu, and updater.
So if anybody wishes to create a new user interface for this famous, and newly recreated classic online game, please get in touch so we can discuss further ideas for it.

Thanks. Like I said, I never tested it so didn't know if it would definitely work.
-
I'll rewrite it another way then.

There's an OptionsRec in modTypes, add **HoverNames As Byte** to the bottom.
Add 2 option buttons to the options window on the main interface (Call them whatever you want).
For the option button that keeps names shown at ALL times, add this code to the sub routine:
**Options.HoverNames = 0**
And for the option that only shows names on mouse hover:
**Options.HoverNames = 1**
Then replace that whole block of code posted above to this:
```
' draw player names
For i = 1 To Player_HighIndex
If IsPlaying(i) And GetPlayerMap(i) = GetPlayerMap(MyIndex) Then
If Options.HoverName = 1 Then
If CurX = Player(i).x And CurY = Player(i).y Then
Call DrawPlayerName(i)
End If
End If
End If
Next
' draw npc names
For i = 1 To Npc_HighIndex
If MapNpc(i).num > 0 Then
If Options.HoverName = 1 Then
If CurX = MapNpc(i).x And CurY = MapNpc(i).y Then
Call DrawNpcName(i)
End If
End If
End If
Next
```
Not tested but should work. -
Since when did you become forum moderator? How about you don't post anything unless it's in regards to the topic? kthx
-
I realised that would be the problem. Just never initially thought that's what was causing it.
