  1. I log off for 14 months and the same issues with moderation exist? That's amazing.
  2. > Their map cache just bugged up. Tell them to delete the "/maps" folder inside "data files", and it should be good once they get back on, and redownload it. > > This is a prime example of why we need checksum-based checking, not revision-based checking. xD Why would only 2 people of the 60 people I sent the same zip file have this problem?
  3. I had two players out of the total of 60 that logged on have this error. They changed accounts so it wasn't an account problem - also tested logging on to the account with a different computer. There were no similarities between their computers at all that we could determine. Anyway, here's the screenshot: ![](http://i.imgur.com/mQZWpaf.jpg) The monsters are in their correct areas. The grass and stuff are from the first map, only the outside area to the far left is a block that is in map 2.
  4. > My bad. > > Should I open up a new thread, on-topic of moderation? That's your call - you da boss. I'm just confused as to where all these posts should go, haha.
  5. > It's not the intelligent side, it's the picking, somewhat-insulting side directed at the moderation team. > > They do a fine job, they very rarely get a break here, and all members ever do is female dog at them. I'm nice to every moderator who doesn't play favorites.
  6. > Wrong topic.. That was more about the consistency of moderation. We had the topic in the other thread, I was directed here. If this is the wrong topic, where do I post?
  7. > I agree with Agora and Bud, this is a generally bad idea. > > If this was definitely going to go ahead, I would at least like to see a fairly high post-count restriction.. Say, 250? That way the newbs wouldn't wander in accidentally. > > I still think it's a bad idea though. I think it's a terrible idea as well. However, moderation on these forums is a complete joke. People get banned for saying things that others say. People get banned for saying things like "shut up" - I mean, seriously, a 24 hour ban for saying shut up? It's ridiculous.
  8. > I also have recieved a warning from Arkazan ;-) Larias, if youre looking to get banned it looks like you are going the right way about it. I wasn't aware intelligent discussion about topics was grounds for getting banned.
  9. I'm not sure this thread is as much about a flame board as it is overbearing moderation. We have two different topics going on in this thread.
  10. edit - delete this post. I see you're moving the topics over there.
  11. > No one, and I do mean NO ONE, has the right to tell anyone else to "shut up", especially those who are being advised that they're behavior is inappropriate. Military or not, this is "How to be a good human" 101. I'm sorry daddy. Please don't spank me. I mean, in your scenario, I'm your 7 year old child, right?
  12. > I personally slap warns on people who are being biggots/bullies/irrational insulters… I don't agree with muting/banning people for having a tiff, though. Arguing is human nature. Keep it under control, not under your heel. If only you were the only moderator.
  13. I honestly can't believe there is discussion of **more** moderation when this is one of the most heavily moderated communities I have ever experienced. Multi-billion dollar companies don't restrain the actions of the members of their forums as much as this forum does despite the fact that if anything goes severely awry they will get sued for a hell of a lot more. And they don't have to worry about losing good members of their community because they have tons - while this forum has very few and it scares off the few people who come here. "YOU SAID SHUT UP! OMG!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111one"
  14. > I disagree. Moderation needs to tighten up, period. No vulgarity, period. No circumnavigating the word filter, period. No disrespecting administration or moderation staff, period. No asking questions in the shoutbox, period. Follow the rules or you get muted and/or banned, period. Heil Hitler!
  15. > 1: Less Overbearing Moderation > > 2: Fair moderation. > > **USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST.** rofl, I don't know who edited my post and added that, but you have a fantastic sense of humor.
