  1. Eh, the more I think on it, the more EO Gold seems mediocre. There is no way to create items for temporary buffs to stats, only healing or mana recovery items. The same goes for spells. > Pets/Summoning System > Skilling & Crafting > Transform the server list to an actual database where all open games can be shown allowing for a greater player base. > Random Dungeon System (Thanks to kibbelz) > Day/Night systems > Player Achievement/Title System > Guild System > Auction House or Grand Exchange type System which will integrate with in-game mailbox system. > Projectiles/Npc Spells and a lot more! When all of that is in place, and the other flaws are fixed, EO might be okay to use. But I still really doubt it would be worth $60.
  2. Can't be helped. When I typed it, as I'm typing this, I put in plenty of open spaces and had it in a paragraph format. –----- Sadly when it actually got posted by the forum, it decided to ignore my formatting. ------- Right, after more searching, I've found that the item limits are apparently coded into EO, at least for Silver. Through the VB stuff, which is no longer accessible. Specifically this -> MAX_ITEMS as long = 255 ------- That being said, it seems to me that most of the people saying that the "profit" mentality is taking over with this software. They are purposefully placing harsh limits on all of that stuff, so they can strong-arm $60 out of anyone who wants to build their own game. ------- I think I'll be moving on. I am okay with them wanting to offer some things special in order to earn money to fund their continually advancing the software. That is one thing. But to offer a "chump" version, and then deliberately try to screw you over for $60 seems a bit excessive.
  3. I just started looking into this, well yesterday technically (as it's 12:30am now), and I've come across some questions. 1) It seems like EO 4.0 is closed off, so I can't VB edit it at all. Meaning any of the systems I was interested in implementing for my game are impossible, and I have to wait for them to be implemented whenever EO is updated further. Right? 1a) So, if I wanted crafting or skills for doing stuff like a profession from Warcraft, I'd have to wait? Would the stuff put into EO be customizable, like the items or npcs we have now? Where I can go to /editcrafting and put in alchemy, blacksmith, etc, to be used as the crafting systems? Or would I be stuck with whatever crafting systems were put in as part of the overall system, and required to work within those systems by just adding new pieces. 2) I've seen the limitations in the install server folder, which seem to be rather harsh. Am I correct in assuming that with Silver, I am only allowed to create 255 items/spells/npcs/shops, 50 quests, and 300 maps? Those numbers, quite honestly, seem a bit absurd. I mean…I'm not 100% on how a shop works, given that the default thing I tried didn't have a working shop. If it's a shop that sells multiple items, I don't see much of a problem, but if it's a 1 item per shop type deal, like say Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past/Oracle Series, etc. then that seems kind of ridiculously low. The one thing that kind of irritates me about these number limitations is how things react with one another. Every spell you create has to have an item to "teach" it to a character. I guess I can get why these limits are in place, if EO is going to be hosting the game server for you. But what about those of us who aren't getting EO to host the server? It's kind of screwing us over with these limitations. Why can't there be another "level" of the software. Let silver be for those who want to use it or get EO to host for them, Gold has all the frills and hosting, and the new one can be something to take off these restrictions and limitations, for those of us wanting to build our own games and host them ourselves.
