  1. I'm not familiar with the exact error you're talking about but here are a few tips that usually fix any problems for me. Trying running the server and client in Administrator mode. It usually stops errors from happening when you launch it. Also if you normally put your computer in to sleep or hibernate mode instead of turning it off then a restart might fix it. If those two don't fix it then here's a few questions that may help us resolve the issue. What does the error message say exactly? Does it happen when you open the server or does it happen after it's loaded?
  2. > On your first screenshot, the walls of the buildings kind of blend into the docks. That would be the first thing I would suggest fixing. Other than that I'm liking the style, looks a little retro.

    > On another note, good job with paying attention to the story and having a world map already planned out. I notice with a lot of projects there seems to be a lack of a good story, which is usually what draws people into a game. Keep up the work I want to see more updates haha

Thanks :D Also I do plan on changing those later on too.
  3. **The Ultimate Eclipse Worlds Tutorial**
    **Last Updated:** July 1, 2015

So you've just downloaded Eclipse Worlds and want to create your very own MMO? Here's a quick guide to get you started. I was pretty confused when I first started using Eclipse so I figured some of you may find this helpful. I will slowly update this guide over to include even more sections and hopefully cover every part of the engine.

**Section 1: ****Downloading, Installing, and Running Eclipse Worlds**

    >! Before we get started you must have a computer that can run Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, or 10\. You are unable to use Macintosh or Linux with Eclipse Worlds. Now on to the tutorial.
    >! First, download Eclipse Worlds from the engines tab seen at the top of this page.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/Lofh0op.png)
    >! Scroll down until you see the download section and download both the Binaries and the Runtimes.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/i6vghCb.png)
    >! Next you need to install the Runtimes. You may need to right click the exe and hit "Run as Administrator" if it doesn't open or if they don't install properly. Installing them is very easy and is just like installing any other program so you should be able to do this part on your own. Remember to restart your computer after installing them or it may not work properly.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/1zuwNB0.png)
    >! Now that the runtimes are installed we need to extract the binaries. I will be using Winrar to extract the files but you can use 7zip or any other file extractor. If you are using Winrar just right click the file that says Eclipse Worlds.zip and hit "Extract to Eclipse Worlds\" or "Extract Here".
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/XjJWwr6.png)
    >! After extracting the file you should get a folder that is named "Eclipse Worlds". Open that up and go to the server folder. You should see a few files named server but the one we want to open is called "Server.exe". On most computers you will need to right click it and hit "Run as Administrator" or else you will receive errors. After opening it your screen should look something like this. If it doesn't open you either forgot to install the runtimes or didn't restart your computer after you did.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/NReb9W2.png)
    >! Now that your server is open go back to the Eclipse Worlds folder and open the client folder. The process should be fairly similar. First we open "Client.exe". Remember you may need to right click it and hit "Run as Administrator" if you receive any errors while trying to open it. Now that you have it open it should look something like this.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/agPWEld.png)
    >! Congratulations! Eclipse Worlds is installed and is running! Now we get to finally enter the game and begin creating it. But first you need to hit the register button and create your character. Now that you have registered log in to the game and go back to your server. If the icon is no longer visible then hit the button that looks like a triangle which is located at the bottom right of your task bar and is next to the time and date. Now that you're back on the server hit the tab that says players. Right click your name and hit Make Owner.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/UTgYfkl.png)
    >! If it worked you should see "You have gained administrator access." in the chat box. Now either hit 0 on your numpad (if you have one) or type "/admin" (without the quotation marks AKA these " ") in the chatbox. To begin typing in the chatbox you must hit the Enter/Return key on your keyboard first. This panel should then pop and you can begin working on your game!
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/YrNjMba.png)

**Section 2:** **Creating and Spawning Items**

    >! Now that your game is running it's time to learn how to create items! First off you either want to type "/admin" or open the item editor directly using "/edititem". When you open it then it should look something like this.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/OCtnJyH.png)
    >! Now I'm going to try and cover each section individually so this may be a little text heavy. First we have the item type. This is what allows you tell the difference between a cake and a helmet. For example if you make your cake a consumable then options will pop up allowing to change how much it heals. If you set your helmet to a piece of equipment you can choose a paperdoll (something we will cover in a later section more in depth) and the stats it gives. Going though each section individually would take a while so here's a quick chart.
    >! **None** - Obviously you have selected no type. This is what you should as the type for currency.
    >! **Equipment** - Allows you to create armor, weapons, rings, etc.
    >! **Consumable** - Allows you to create health, mana, and experience gaining items. You can also have it trigger a spell on consumption.
    >! **Title** - Allows you to give your players the ability to change their title using an item.
    >! **Spell** - Allows you to create an item that will teach a player a spell.
    >! **Teleport** - Allows you to create an item that teleports the player somewhere.
    >! **Reset Stats** - You guessed it. It will reset your stats.
    >! **Autolife** - Automatically lets you regenerate Health or Mana (I may be wrong, haven't used it).
    >! **Change Sprite** - An item that will change a players sprite.
    >! **Recipe** - Allows you to create a recipe that can be used to craft items with.
    >! Wow that was a lot. Okay now to briefly cover some of the smaller sections. Sound will have the item make a sound when used. The icon is what it displays in your inventory. Animation allows you to have the item make an animation when used. The price allows you to set it's price. Checking the box stackable makes it so that you can have multiple copies of the item but only use one inventory slot. Bind Type is way to set it so the item is bound to the player.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/6tPWdqU.png)
    >! Now on to the requirements section. First we have the skill tab. We will cover skills more in depth later but this allows you to make it so that the item is intended for a certain skill. For example an axe should be for Woodcutting. The proficiency it so you can set what type of skill tool it is. Setting the access above 0 makes it so that you need to be a staff member in order to use it. Gender makes it so only one gender can use it. Class is so only a certain class can use it. Level, Int, Str, Agi, End, and Spi are all of your combat skills. Setting these will make it so that the player needs a certain level(s) in them in order to use it.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/MNziEbm.png)
    >! Lastly we have the description. I would cover each item individually with paperdolls, recipes, etc but it would take way too much time for something that is pretty simple. Anyway the description is what your players will read when they hover over the item with their mouse.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/bLsAA6C.png)
    >! Now we will spawn our item in to the game. Hit save and open the admin panel again. Go over to the spawning section and you will see that you spawn each item based on it's type. Seeing as how my item type Gold has no type I will be hitting the one in the Top center. If you need to figure out what type each button is just hover over it with your mouse.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/urebW2J.png)
    >! Now that we're in the spawning menu it should be pretty simple. Select the item, where you want it to spawn, how many you want to spawn, and if you want the spawning window to disappear after you spawn something or not. I will be spawning 10,000 gold on to the ground.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/F3Otud5.png)
    >! Congratulations! You have now created an item and spawned it. Later on in this tutorial series you will learn how to make it spawn naturally, as a quest reward, and how to make it a monster drop.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/SUR3Kx7.png)
    >! **Section 3:** **Creating a Class (Archers, Warriors, etc)**

    >! In this section you'll be learning how to make a class. A class is what your players will pick when they sign up for your game. It's just like how in some games you can either be a Mage, Archer, or a Warrior! To open the class editor type "/editclass" or type "/admin" and open it from the admin panel.
    >! Once you have it opened this is what it should look like.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/epvXKRr.png)
    >! This should be pretty easy so you might not need this guide for most of it. Instead of a full in-depth tutorial I'll give you a basic chart of what each part means.
    >! **Name** - What the name of your class will be (Archer, Mage, etc.)
    >! **Str, Agi, End, Spi, and Int - **[http://www.eclipseorigins.com/thread-727.html](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/thread-727.html)
    >! **Male Sprite/Female Sprite** - This is what every character who chooses that class will look like. You can switch between male and female sprite selections by pressing the swap gender checkbox.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/2Mg1hwU.png)
    >! **Color** - What color the login message of anyone with that class will be. (I may be wrong).
    >! **Face** - This is what face the class will display when the player checks their stats.
    >! **Map** - What map this class will spawn on.
    >! **X and Y** - The coordinates on the map you selected that the player will spawn on.
    >! **Direction** - What direction the player will be facing when they spawn.
    >! **Combat Triangle** - What type of combat they use (Melee, Range, Magic)
    >! **Start Spell** - Select the spell that they will have when they start.
    >! **Start Items** - Select the items you wish the player to spawn with.
    >! When you're all done you'll be able to see a quick preview of what your players will see when selecting a class. Do this by logging out and registering a new account.
    >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/VWkq8IN.png)
    >! **Section 4:** **Creating NPCs (Monsters, Friendly People, Shop Owners, etc.)**
    Coming soon!
  4. > I meant the initial load when you first open the client, not sure about you, but it take a good 30 seconds+ to get the menu to load. EO 2 takes all of 5 seconds.

The load speed of the client depends mostly on your computer's speed and the hardware you have. For example someone with an SSD will obviously open it faster than someone with an HDD.
  5. There are plenty of people out there willing to make an engine like this but It'll probably cost you a chunk of cash. As far as I know I've yet to see an engine like this on Eclipse so there's not really a free alternative. Anyway if you are looking for a programmer to make this for you I'd suggest checking in the talent center.
  6. The event system is very different than a scripting system. The event system allows you to easily create things such as cut scenes, chests, etc. In order to accomplish what you are asking for the actual source code of Eclipse needs to be modified because Eclipse doesn't have a scripting system.
  7. The website already has a mobile version. An app isn't really needed too based on how you can get emails every time you get a notification on Eclipse. As long as you have an email app they'll pop up on your phone. I could see how it could be useful but it's a lot of work for something that isn't necessary.
  8. I don't really have any advice here but your family really needs to calm down. Although it is a pretty big leap in terms of the age difference, love is love. I guess all I could suggest is having a talk with your family telling them to back off.
  9. Seeing as how urgently a **programmer** is needed I am going to be offering **definite monetary gain** to one who helps work on the project. Now you may be wondering, how can you guarantee this game will be a success and I will get payed? I will explain this all below.

**Why should I invest my time and skill in to this game?**

I already have hosting set up and ready to go. The host of the game's website has a server to run the game on once it is complete. The server also runs with a Intel E3-1240v3\. This guarantees that the game will be able to be hosted. A lot of the game is already done too so launch should be relatively soon after the necessary features are added.

**So how much will I be payed?**

You will be given roughly 20% of all the game's income for the first 12 months
and longer if needed. To put this in to perspective if 50 people purchase $4 game membership then you will receive $40 every month.

**How do you know the game won't flop?**

I plan on starting an IndieGoGo campaign soon to pay for things such as advertisements, pixel art, etc and the website already has 200+ members signed up.

    **Extra Info**

The engine is made in Eclipse Origins 3 and already has a few things added to it. I can also be pretty lenient about how fast you do things. I don't mind waiting a week or two for a few features at the maximum and I will always understand if something gets in the way. Also in order to receive the money for doing the work you need to stick with the game all the way until launch. I **cannot **pay you unless all the features needed are added (and trust me I don't need very many, also new things aren't added to the list often).
  10. I've been trying to make an actual game for as long as I remember. Right now my personal goal/dream is to make a game (preferably an iOS one) before I head off the college. I also want to major in Computer Science in college and afterwards work for a company such as Ubisoft, Jagex, EA, etc.
