  1. The post was a test to see if there's actually anybody on this forum that's capable of creating decent artwork. If this topic received replies, they'd find out tons of information about the project and other projects in the works. But since we're here, do you (or anybody else that may be reading this) know of a good place to look for some artists?

  3. My website should be fine now. Anyways, I'm making some mobile games and I'm looking for an artist that can make some nice looking 2d graphics. My current game is a top down shooter that's nearly complete - it's just not having custom graphics that's holding me back.   4. My last post with a link was not me trying to infect your machines. Hostgator (my host) supposedly took care of the malware infection already. They sent me a long email with the details. I know longer get the the message. But no - it's not me trying to infect your machines - the malware resides on website's host, meaning my site is infected. I'll try to upload the game somewhere else and get back to looking for an artist ASAP.   8. It's probably been over a year since the last time I posted in the forums. I see a million Projects started and all promising to be great. Tons of WIP's. Has anybody ever finished one or even have a playable WIP? Any promising projects at all? It's disappointing to see this wonderful engine (mad props to you, Robin) and not seeing anybody put it to use. I had visions last year of what I'd create but then worked all summer (60+ hour work weeks). A few days ago I started picking back up where I left off. The only thing that keeps me down and gets me in a funk are graphics/tilesets. I neeeeeeeed custom graphics. Can anybody point me in the right direction of a talented artist? Compensation possibly available =) If anybody is curious, I've added a questing system, projectiles (95% finished), NPC drops, more equipment slots, a mini map, varying movement speed for players and npcs(example, a pair of boots or a spell that allows you to walk faster - 90% complete) and currently working on big update that sort of is the basis of the game. It's what makes it 'different' and hopefully fun. =)
  9. If I get around to it, I'll post some code for ya. I sort of did something like this. If you click on an NPC that's not friendly, your player will attack. (Although he doesn't chase your target down, you still move after your npc manually, but as long as you're facing your target, your player will attack automatically) It's a pretty easy edit

UpdateMapLogic determines when NPCs move. I'd like to be able to give diff types of NPCs different speeds, which in part, would involve calling UpdateMapLogic more often than half a second. Will it hinder performace?

    EQ Slots

    I found a tutorial on here to add additional EQ slots, which seemed to be outdated for 1.5 and 2.0. (find the post and follow the second step and you'll see why.) - Either that or the guy's instructions were way off on editing client/server (or maybe I'm just really dumb!) Anyways, I coded an additional FOUR eq slots for a total of EIGHT. Now I'm just having a REAL tough on figuring out how to draw EQ in correct positions/slots. Also, in the item editor, I think I edited that incorrectly as cmbType is only listing all the EQ and no longer lists Consume, Key, Currency, Spell, etc. Any insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated. If more info is needed in order to help me, just let me know what information you need. Thanks!

    PicScreen help

    On the client Find ``` Public Const MAX_MAPX As Byte = 14 Public Const MAX_MAPY As Byte = 11 ``` And change them to larger numbers…such as..19 and 16.     I'm not seeing a procedure related to what you're saying. UpdateMapLogic?? If so, I have tried calling that more often and there was no change. If i'm way off, sorry. Working on barely any sleep.

Searching through the code, I'm only finding .StunDuration (which comments say it's for spells) Is StunDuration also timing whether it's time for an NPC to move normally? But the code comment (refer to my post) was making it seemed like you would run faster if you held down shift.     Only 1 error that I can recall off the top of my head. ``` Map(mapNum).Npc(NpcIndex).x = tX And Map(mapNum).Npc(NpcIndex).y = tY ```to ``` Map(mapNum).MapNpc(NpcIndex).x = tX And Map(mapNum).MapNpc(NpcIndex).y = tY ``` Pretty damn good for throwing it together in Notepad, Samu! lol I edited it slightly to use it how I needed it to be used. I did away with using to control to attack, and i'm now using right click targeting to attack. You can see where your sub comes into play =) And didn't need to send any commands to the server, it's all done on the client.

    Thanks man. You didn't have to go and do all of that for me, but it's very appreciated. =) Looking through all the code gets a little confusing. I'm still trying to get familiar with it. There was another question I had, but I can't remember what it was right now but I'll be back to working on some things here soon, so I'll get around to posting. Thanks.
