  1. ~~Ghostly has actually moved and is now in my time zone which allows us to work even more. We're finishing up the new GUI while the new VPS and website are being worked out. I'll be fixing paperdolls so that they're all correct and tidied up. The server will be out tomorrow again with the level cap raised. Hope to see some players back on.~~

    ~~EDIT: I'm taking some time to work on a similar but more refined graphics style. The alpha is on hold for a little while.

    EDIT2: The alpha should be up soon again. I'll make the level cap a lot higher (maybe even just 40, which will be the release level cap) and will put out a PvP arena for people to fight in, though there won't be PvP gear and things like that yet.~~

    EDIT3: Decided to use the old style. Gonna fix it up a bit and rework the game into EO Event System
  2. It's summer time, meaning that besides baseball camp for two weeks I have almost two months to devote to working on Aegis. After working out some things with some old and new friends I will be re-opening the server for alpha testing. Thanks and stick around for updates.

  4. Well, I'm back from Washington DC and now I have about a week of free time to devote to Aegis. The IP has been updated and is on the main post. I'll be on most of the day working on new sprites and in-game recipes, as well as preparing for the level 6-10 zones, so feel free to hop on to see some new content and fixes. The server is 24/7.
  5. After a two weeks of banging out projects and baseball starting up, I've found some time to continue to work on Aegis. As Kevin has stated on our website, the new VPS will be up should be up on April 1st and new updates will be rolling out. Thanks.
  6. I'm aware that it's currently unbalanced Pvp wise. I'll be adding spell scaling for Mages and clerics soon, and reworking the forumla so thiefs and warriors benefit from spell scaling too. In due time. Monsters will also be buffer to corollate to the new spell scaling.
  7. Server will be up soon, I'll update the thread title when it is. We now have somebody hosting it 24/7, so when that's set up I won't have to do the daily update, but rather content updates here and on our website.

    Not really. What you said is mostly factual. I didn't make a majority of the tileset, that was Raiko's work, so I'm not going to try to preach about how good it is, because it's honestly pretty flawed, and will likely be like that until I have time to work on it myself. I'm aware everything is small, it's intentional, but I don't think it's impossible to see. You're entirely correct about the ladder. It's just a fence; a placeholder. The same with all NPCs being the default sprite besides slimes and orcs, which also were default at the beginning of the Alpha. My intentions were to do the 1-5 content and then focus on actually making the game look visually pleasing, and now that I've finished the 1-5 content I can do that. I'm aware of what Caucasian skin looks like, it's just my preference to have it a bit tanner/orangeyer than normal. I just like how it looks, and other people who've played seem to like it too. But I did save the sprite wrong and it brought out an ugly shade which I'm planning on fixing too. And about the tutorial, I didn't have Runescape's in the back of my mind whilst making it, though I am aware of how Runescape's use to be awhile ago. It's simply to learn the ropes for people who aren't use to Eclipse, as a few of my IRL friends also are playing and its helped them get a feel for it. There's no reason for me to fight. It's the alpha. We're not even a week into development yet. I actually appreciate you expressing your opinions on the game and it's flaws because getting things like that ironed out early is whats going to make it better in the end.

    TL;DR: There's a reason we're alpha testing, to iron out flaws like the ones you mentioned. I appreciate your criticism, and I really do take it to heart. So thank you. You're not wrong, and I'm not going to say that you are.
  9. Today was pretty meh. Again we're going to need to wait til the weekends to coincide with the majority of our playerbases timeszones, but that leaves plenty of time for development. I finished up the level 5 zone and released the level 5 gear, and tomorrow or Thursday Ghostly will finish up the skill system, which includes 6 new skills and 67 new recipes, so that oughta be fun. Same time tomorrow.
