Got tired of trees, made dry grass tiles. These are also more urgent as they will be used earlier.

What does eclipse think? Could these be used in a starting area, or only unique super niche areas? Maybe too bad to be used at all?

The starting area is a little ranching town with grass that is dry most of the year. If the dry grass tiles don't work, I'll just use green grass tiles with lots of dirt.
  2. The quality of the tiles are completely inconsistent.
The huge rocks have great dithering, good palette, and great shading. Then the little gray rocks on the ground are very noisy and have no hue shifting. The cacti have little depth and no hueshifting as well. Then your dark gray rocks have too much contrast, no dithering, and no hue shifting. Overall it looks like you're just completely mixing tilesets.

Also I don't like the dunes. I don't think they have enough build up or something, they look off.

    > I don't know man, go to that vbforums dot com site, there are some pretty hardcore guys out there. Or were anyway. If you guys really want me to rate myself i would say on a scale from 1 to 10 (Eclipse Standards) I'm a 5.

    Don't rate yourself.
Robin is not an amateur. He literally designs software for a living. There is no way you could be less amateur than that.

You are not an amateur. You are now taking on paid jobs. You just stepped into the professional world.

    > The large trees look like they are just wider versions of the other tree with maybe a different perspective

I wasn't really going for a different kind of tree. The trees just seemed too small, so I made them bigger. I don't know if I'll continue to use the little trees.

    > I'm just saying things can get a bit more complicated in the .Net scene, and a ton of people around here cannot even follow a tutorial. I'm not worried myself, one of the fantastic things about .Net is multiple threads, which are a blast to play around with. And on the upside XNA is easy as bum candy to work with if you know what you are doing "Unlike D3D8". I just need to get used to the C# syntax. Another good thing is there are a _ton_ of tutorials for XNA + C#.

BS, C# is way easier than VB6\. C# has slightly more difficult syntax but you can use object oriented stuff so it's easier. Also, I doubt Robin would work with C#. I've seen him say a couple times that .Net is shit.

Regardless, good luck Crzy. If this comes out, I might actually use it.

It might have a decent hard drive or a couple sticks of RAM still usable.

    > Yay! Another EO Minecraft project! The last one just died and the one who got the source did nothing with it. Good luck!

    >EO
    No

Why would I play this when I can play normal minecraft? This is just a 2D version. Sure, make it for learning purposes but honestly I don't see a point in advertising it.

    > I think its too talk if you are planing to use it with those tiles, he is as tall as the trees. Otherwise I think its good.

Nah, those trees are just small. I gotta figure out how I'm going to do it though. Pixelling trees is the bane of my pixel career.

Trees are too evenly spaced, and it looks pretty boring in general. I'd suggest some tall grass here and there.
