Using an item from a comand button?

how can i make it so i can use an item from my command button based on its item number instead of invnum? i know ill have to go serverside and replace some stuff in sub use item to be able to actually make the item work. any hel would be appreciated.

Basically i am planning on making it so the item isnt even going to be in the inventory at all. i just want to figure out how to have the command button use a particular item and then ill figure out how to make it so i dont need it in the inventory to use.

make the client send a packet to server with the item's number when the button is clicked, do whatever you want to do server side and then update the client
