TorenRenne
Hi All,My old PC has pretty much bitten the dust after many years…I need some thoughts on what to replace it with.I could go Pre-built such as [>this<](http://www.ebuyer.com/369710-cyberpower-battalion-500-gaming-pc-ecc01101?%20UGC)Or, build one myself.I already have a new GFX Card and PSU, both have never been used.I have done some research and come up with:Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz - £177.32[Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 Socket 1155 ATX Motherboard](http://www.ebuyer.com/291652-asus-p8z68-v-gen3-socket-1155-dvi-vga-hdmi-8-channel-audio-atx-motherboard-p8z68-v-gen3) - £124.98[G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX](http://www.ebuyer.com/264750-g-skill-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-ripjawsx-memory-f3-12800cl9d-8gbxl) - £35.57Nvidia GeForce EN GTX480 1.5GB - £0.00Corsair TX650W PSU - £0.00[Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3](http://www.ebuyer.com/173804-samsung-1tb-spinpoint-f3-internal-hard-drive-hd103sj) - £62.99[CiT Vantage Case](http://www.ebuyer.com/343262-cit-vantage-gaming-case-black-hd-audio-black-interior-4-fans-card-cscitvan) - £31.95[Samsung S20A300N LED 20" Monitor](http://www.ebuyer.com/260589-samsung-s20a300n-lcd-led-20-vga-monitor-ls20a300ns-en) - £71.99**Total**: £504.80Any thoughts?Need to fork out for Windows 7 too. :err:In comparison to the pre-built one I linked to:- Costs around the same- No OS- No Optical Drive- includes Monitor- has an extra 4GB RAM
Mellowz
Pushing it really close on the power supply, are we? (: If it were me, I'd go with at least a 750w power supply.
TorenRenne
Will it matter, if I'm not planning on Over-clocking?I always find it tough to estimate what sort of PSU to get, but I know the GFX Card listed needs a 600W PSU.
Mellowz
You can always try a 650 watt power supply. With today's games, even without overclocking, your graphics cards will still reach their max settings (which is why they say 600 watt). I have two 5970's which are dual GFX cards and I'm always maxing the first one out.Worst case scenario is you'll just have to upgrade to a 750 watt power supply. TorenRenne
True, perfectly do-able. I think the most modern game I run/have run was either StarCraft 2 or Civ 4My old PC run both on an ATI Radeon 9600 128MB.lol
