**What is "Colonies"?**

_Colonies_ is a retro ORPG I'm currently programming in C++. It's a sandbox openworld survival game where you try your best to survive the elements, animals, and other players. You can form colonies with other players in order to survive the harsh world, or you can rough it out alone. The time period of the game is undefined, but is restricted to Iron Age technology. Death is permanent, so play wisely.

**Wait… have I seen this game before?**

Past temporary names of this project include "Homestead" and "Project Ember".
