If you are going to make a decent MMORPG, you will want a server that:

1\. Is on 24/7 - Unless it is in development
2\. Doesn't require the user to download and set up wierd programs like Hamachi - This is confusing for new users.

If it is on 24/7, then you can use it as a router! Just connect it directly to the internet, then set up ICS. Then, your existing router can be used as a wired/wireless access point for your internal network. This is both secure and efficient :)

If you have a bit of cash to spend, I recommend buying a Linksys WRT54G Cable Router. You don't have to have cable to use it - Just connect the "Internet" port to your server. It will make your internal computers inacessible via WAN, so it will be impossible for hackers to access your internal network :D
