Game Idea/Mod for Eclipse

As you all know, eclipse is an MMORPG creator.
BUT, it's not meant only for MMO's..
there's really a lot you can do with eclipse, and here's an idea I thought of which is really something no one has ever thought of.
originally, I got the inspiration for this from a mod of warcraft III, so here we go:

To start with, the game will have several rooms(maps).the maps will be scrolling and quite big too.(luckily we dont have to load any other maps as the player can't leave the map till the game is over.
When you enter a room, you are given an interface to either join or host a game(host on the server). There are two factions, and you may choose any one, however, a balance is maintained between the two teams.
Once the game starts, you may choose a "Champion/Hero" from a UI.
each champion has special skills/stats
The game is a team strategy where players can choose sides and his own hero. There are two sides on the games, and .

> Players on the same side fight the other players on the opposing side to win the game. The objective of the games is to destroy the opponents’ base together with AI controlled units called creeps. Heroes start at level 1 and levels up to level 25 in 3 different "Lanes". Heroes level up during the game while killing opposing heroes and creeps. Heroes gain skill when they gain additional levels. This game can be played as starting 1v1 up to 5v5\.
>
> The game is more on strategy than individual play. Even though players have their own heroes, it is their teamwork that is very important to winning the game. Although factors like individual skills also matter, a very good player with team mates that doesn’t care a lot about the team can’t just win by himself against all his opponents(unless of course he’s far too good and his opponents are new to the game).

(This game is not RTS)

> Players on the first team are based at the southwest corner of the map, and those on the other team are based at the northeast corner. Each base is defended by towers and waves of units which guard the main paths leading to their base. In the center of each base is the "Holy Grail", a building that must be destroyed to win the game.
>
> Each human player controls one Hero, a powerful unit with unique abilities, each with different abilities and tactical advantages over other heroes. The scenario is highly team-oriented; it is difficult for one player to carry the team to victory alone. Nevertheless, some heroes, given enough time, can change the outcome single-handedly, while countering the opposing team's heroes.
>
> Because the gameplay revolves around strengthening individual heroes, it does not require one to focus on resource management and base-building, as in most traditional real-time strategy games. Killing computer-controlled units earns the player experience points; when enough experience is accumulated, the player gains a level. Leveling up improves the hero's toughness and the damage it can inflict, and allows players to upgrade their spells or skills. In addition to accumulating experience, players also manage a single resource: gold. The typical resource gathering of an RTS game is replaced by a combat-oriented money system; in addition to a small periodic income, heroes earn gold by killing hostile units, base structures, and enemy heroes. Using gold, players buy items to strengthen their hero and gain abilities.
>
> Certain items can be combined with recipes to create more powerful items. Buying items that suit one's hero is an important tactical element of the scenario.

> So, what are the PRO's and CONS of this kinda game?
> Pros:
> -Fun to Make
> -Different from other MMO's
> -each game will end in < than 1 hour
> -this is not an MMO where people have to keep gaining XP
> -Not a lot of sprites to make except for heroes, their animations, and creeps.
> -Mapping will be very easy(just one map)
> -With a good team , this game can amass a large fanbase
> -A different perspective to eclipse
> -Hybrid tower defense game
>
> CONS
> -A little bit of coding and scripting involved
> -A good dev team required
> -good graphic artists
> -A good temporary mapper(he needs to map just one map, but it needs to be perfect, and the map he makes will be of a 100x100 dimension)
> -Developers need brains and commitment
>
> I'm not saying that I'm making this, but I'm ready to code for such a game if somone plans to, heck, you can even make this the eclipse community game if you want to!

@H.:

> I was thinking of making a peer-to-peer mmo engine - each person hosts a chunk of maps depending on your upload speed.  All the actual server does is distribute the IPs - kindof like a torrent

That would be cheating your players, not to mention additional bandwidth usage.

@Zarnick - No , its just like Aeon Of Strife for SF
