Murdoc Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 You know, I suck at making sprites too. But, I decided that my next project "Hero Saga Online" was gonna have all custom tiles and sprites. And so, eventhough I suck I started makin them anyway.. And guess what? Theyre not turnin out so bad. Maybe you could read some tutorials on how to sprite, get some practice, and you never know you might be able to make at least decent looking sprites in no time. They dont have to look super awesome… besides most the games made with Eclipse are for fun... youre never going to make money of em, so dont take the graphics too seriously. Murdoc Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 If you can get your hands on photoshop or paint shop pro (version 7 or higher) it will make the work alot easier. For example you can use grids (32x32) which is the exact side you need for tiles. You can use grid snapping to help with drawing perfect lines. You can do shading with a black to transparent gradient. Of course, this is very basic tilesheeting. But like I said it's easier if you use a good program. When I get the time I'll put up a simple tutorial on how to make simplistic tiles. That should help you get on your way. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
