So let me just start by saying that this post is pretty much a break down and summary of this really long google document I've written and will be writing in everytime I work on this project… The document can be viewed by anyone here:

**What is Alchemite?**

Alchemite is my latest project in the works that tells the tale of a character who is brand new to the world of Remmikal and is interested in the science of alchemy that is provided there. In the game your character attends a school called, The Alchemical Education Academy. In this school the player learns to create potions and use alchemy by obtaining resources called essence which are used to add effect to spells and brews. Everything in the academy you have to make your self, there is no list of predefined spells that every player gets to use at certain levels or anything. Everything! You design it! You add effects to your potions and spells, you determine how much levels, how much resources, and how much mana it cost to cast the spell…

WOAH WOAH WOAH... wouldn't everyone just make a completely over powered spell that kills everything in one hit? Well... it's not that easy in fact, let's start by looking at a potion crafting table. Creating spells are very similar to this...

So what you're looking at is the concept of potion brewing. basically a user can gather resources and alchemite to be able to create different materials. These materials can then be crushed up and mixed into a potion. Different items added the potion/spell will give a different effect. However, some items can only be used once per potion/spell. For example I could create a fire spell that I cast that has a cool down time of 30 seconds. I could add a time herb to this potion to change it's cool down to 25 seconds instead. I can also define it's element by adding a fire shard to it making it the fire spell that it is. However I could not add a second element and make it a double element spell. That would be MUCH too beefy.

Carrying on from there, in this game you will see items like Alchemite. Alchemite is a mana material. It doesn't go into your inventory, you can't sell it and you can't drop it. The item is bound to your character. In the game Alchemite is a median that allows you to cast spells and add alchemical shards to potions. Without alchemite, there is not alchemy. However alchemite is NOT the only mana. You have actual mana which allows you to make potions. This is to prevent players from making 1,000,000 potions an hour and not killing a thing. It just doesn't seem right to me :/

Each student in the academy will be given a spell notebook with magic notebook paper that you can clear at any time. This notebook has 16 pages so you can carry up to 16 spells. Without a spell in the notebook, you can't cast that spell.
