Medleyy
Opening some sprites up in Paint.NET I noticed another frame at the side of the other sprites, but transparent. What's it's purpose?
Jaiden
It's not an extra frame, it's because the texture sizes must be a power of two. This was discussed in a thread earlier today: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,74293.0.html
Medleyy
…So it's only to keep compatibility with DX8..? Sorted.
Jaiden
Yes, it's because of the way things are rendered. The sprites are textures, and texture sizes have to be a power of 2 in DX8\.
Medleyy
I thought so, but I wasn't entirely sure. It was that or I kind of thought it might have been a feature Robin coded in to make a character invisible whilst something happens. Either way, glad that's cleared up :D
