This is awesome, thanks for posting!

That would be why I said "moderately-sort of active". And thanks for the welcome back, Robin ;)

I can say for certain nobody here will remember me, but a few years ago, I was moderatly-sort of active on the forums but it's been ages since I've ever logged on. And I'm going to be getting on here a lot more often, so hello everyone.

this looks amazing! keep up the good work :azn:

@Lam3r:
> This looks pretty much like you've tried to create the most generic medieval fantasy game possible. Every feature is based pretty much on LotR it seems, and the map is simple and forgettable. The story is incredibly bland and boring and has been done a million times.

> If I were you, I'd scrap this "idea" (crappy 2d fail-copy of Lord of the Rings Online) and either think up an original concept, or work on someone else's.

The bartender points over to this giant indian in the corner. The biker walks over and says "Hey how about a blowjob". The indian stands up beats the crap out of him goes absolutely nuts breaks tables over his head throws and throws him through the window. The bartender goes holy crap man ive seen you get mad but nothing like that. What did that biker say to you anyway? the indian replies "i couldnt here him to well because of the music but i think he said something about a job"

An airline captain was breaking in a new blonde stewardess. The route they were flying had a layover in another city. Upon their arrival, the captain showed the stewardess the best place for airline personnel to eat, shop and stay overnight.
The next morning, as the pilot was preparing the crew for the day's route, he noticed the new stewardess was missing. He knew which room she was in at the hotel and called her up wondering what happened. She answered the phone, crying, and said she couldn't get out of her room. "You can't get out of your room?" the captain asked, "Why not?"
The stewardess replied: "There are only three doors in here," she sobbed, "one is the bathroom, one is the closet, and one has a sign on it that says 'Do Not Disturb'!" -
hehe
they make funny facial expresions :azn: -
There was this guy at a bar, just looking at his drink. He stays like that for half of an hour.
Then, this big trouble-making truck driver steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, "Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I'll buy you another drink. I just can't stand to see a man cry."
"No, it's not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outrageous, fires me. When I leave the building, to my car, I found out it was stolen. The police said that they can do nothing. I get a cab to return home, and when I leave it, I remember I left my wallet and credit cards there. The cab driver just drives away."
"I go home, and when I get there, I find my wife in bed with the gardener. I leave home, and come to this bar. And just when I was thinking about putting an end to my life, you show up and drink my poison." -
Thank you guys for the feedback, more screenshots are on the way

**Aelaer Reborn**
Storyline:
>! Nearly 1500 years ago the world of Aelaer was created by the three High Gods. Following the Creation, the Gods split off to create beings to inhabit their own chosen lands. Suurd, the High God of Light, sent the Woodland Elves to live in the Eastern Forests. Thred, the High God of Balance, send the Tropic Elves to live in the Southern Islands. Ghord, the High God of Corruption, sent the Goblinkind to live in the Western Wastelands. It wasn't long before Ghord began to want to keep the whole world for himself, so he began sending hordes of Goblinkind into the Eastern and Southern lands. To counter the assualt, Suurd and Thred joined together in an alliance, to defeat the advancing hordes. The two Gods created the Humans and Dwarves to aid in the defense of the civilized lands.
>! A few years later the goblinfolk made a swift retreat back into their Western lands. It was a great victory for the civilized people. But the cost was great, over half of all of the civilized races where killed in the long battle, and the Tropic Elves were no more. All of the Gods, even Ghord, agreed to leave the world alone and let their creations run the world as they pleased. Since then the Gods havn't been heard from. About 500 years after the Gods left, the power of Magic was discovered. The Elves retreated back into their woods, the Dwarves to to their stone cities in the mountains. However, the Humans spread across the world, living on almost every island. The world was at peace.
It's been 1000 long years since the discover of Magic, and not even the oldest being on the world of Aelaer remembers the war against Ghord's armies. But something has been stirring deep within the Wastelands, possibly another goblinkind army. You can choose to explore the world of Aelaer, or you may choose to live a peaceful life. It's all up to you.

The 'Job' system
At the beginnning of the game, there are no classes to choose from, only the races. During the tutorial mission, you get to choose what Job you would like to have. This doesn't really change much, just that you start that Job as a level five in it, and other Jobs will not level past 50 (the max is 100) You can then put attribute points in stats that are relevant to your choosen Job (I.e. BLacksmith needs Strength, Clothworker needs Speed, ect, ect) Adding attributes is not needed it just gives small bonuses to succcess rates of items.
Working in your job is completely optional. It's just something to do in-between adventures, or if you want, a full-time-job.

Update log
>! 04-11-10 (Sunday)
Wow, it's been a while since I last updated anything. I added a few new tutorial maps to the images section so you might want to check it out. I'm going to try to finish the tutorial by the end of the week (but I'm not 100% sure I will)
>! 03-23-10 (Tuesday)
So yeah, I haven't done any work in ages and after looking over my maps I've decided to go back and redo them. So I will be doing this over the next few days. I've also considered rewriting the storyline. Look back in a few days to see what I've done.
>! 03-08-10 (Monday)
I didn't get any work done during the weekend
I'm going to finish most of the exterior of Oakedge today

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please check back every few days if you want to know what I'm currently working on (I can only get on the computer every few days). Thanks Again!

18? Whaaat? I still play on my first character, and I'm up to about 160 hours and I don't think I've done everything yet o_O
Overall, a great game, despite the main storyline being a huge disappointment.
