  1. i5-4670k @ standard clock (I could overclock, but I don't see reason to right now)
    8gb 1600mhz dual channel ddr3
Zotac AMP! Edition GTX 770 2gb vram
    128gb Samsung evo ssd
    500gb wd blue
500gb random harddrive I had left
22" flatscreen 1080p for my work-stuff with some coolermaster mouse+keyboard (which are surprisingly good for their price! The screen is viewsonic or something but actually pretty good as well for 100€)

My pc is also cabled through the wall on its' back to my 37" 1080p philips tv + xbox pad & wireless keyboard&mouse from logitech so I have the comfort of a console with the specs of a pc. I love my setup.

  2. I believe that if you use the method of creating the new constant (Public Const VK_SPACE = &H20) you'd have to change the section where it uses that constant (getAsyncKeyState(CONSTANTHERE)) to use VK_SPACE instead of VK_CONTROL aswell. Also, shouldn't VK_SPACE be declared as a long as well if it's the same type of constant?
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  3. Glad you appreciate it, like I said, I'll give it a more in-depth test later. I didn't have any trouble with the menus, used the full client from the rar (first link I think).

as for 3: yes that's basically what I meant
4: on account creation I think? you have to manually delete the string
9: I just think it's weird to be able to use every skill in the beginning, gives less sense of progression… I'd prefer it to start out with like 3 and then you can work your way down a skilltree for example, also allowing for skill-variation inside the same class. But that may just be me ;)
13: Hm... couldn't you implement a check for the npc being a tamed one and otherwise target your own character? I think it's a little weird to move the mouse away from your target just to heal yourself.
15: If it helps, there were 3 quests to kill 60 snakes each (guess they'd all be solved at the same time anyways, could aswell make 1 quest out of those) and I didn't get that counter up by killing snakes

I'll just continue to throw everything that comes to mind in when I continue my journey. I guess that quest thingy kinda stopped me, plus the general lack of sense of direction I had. I know you'll improve in the future, so far so good!

  4. Download: WOW, this is fast! Really good server you're hosting this on, could utilize my full 5.5mb/s!

    The Game:
(just a listing of things that came to my mind as I played)

1\. Please change the launcher's icon (no big deal, but just so you don't forget :D )
2\. "Launcher has failed, want to repair?" DAMMIT!
3\. Okay, I really like the main screen, the only thing I'd add is maybe a little text hovering over each option without a limitation to mouse-over, I could understand if you preferred it this way though.
4\. It should delete the "(email)" string from the textbox upon clicking it
5\. Maybe display errors like "password saver length <5" a little more user-friendly… Like "Your password-Saver has to be atleast 5 characters long!"
6\. It would be cool if the dude at the table said things like "welcome back traveler!" instead of the stuff he's mumbling now
7\. Maybe display a manual-page at the beginning, like many mmo's do. Just the most important controls and stuff, maybe with images to make it fancy
8\. Why no menu upon pressing escape? Something like "logout, change character, OPTIONS (+CONTROLS)" and stuff should be there imo
9\. Too many skills in the beginning and no progression, I guess that'll come later? The skill-menu should be reworked then too
10\. The camera angle after starting/teleporting is weird, maybe make it look at the player from the side+above?
11\. I now see that the options and stuff were hidden by the quest-thingy... maybe change that it is a little above the buttons. Also the escape-thing STILL would be nice
12\. Also, will full settings come later? Not many options as of now (I'd really like to adjust draw-distance for example)
13\. When having an npc focussed, your heal and other support ability hit it. I think it should auto-target your own character in that case, noone likes buffing snakes
14\. Nice quest menu, but maybe let it fade out after a while of not hovering the mouse above it and only show the text constantly. You could also add a graphical option for that
15\. The kill-snakes-quest does not progress. I'll never get ma epic robe :,(
16\. i'd like if there was dynamic lighting for the torch in my hand... or atleast in a little area around the character because night is pretty dark
17\. You are not dead with 0 hp, only on -1\. Is that intentional?
18\. Snakes have a ranged attack?

This is it for now, I'm maybe gonna play later or in the next few days. I'm really picky, I hope my feedback could help you a bit, even though there's still a lot more to explore.

  5. RICK AND MORTY (HELL YES MARSH!)
Dexter (first 4 (?) seasons I think were brilliant)
    Breaking bad
Walking Dead (Yes, it's not THAT great, but I love zombies)
    Community
    Scrubs (classic)
Video Game Highschool (for all you nerds, it's on youtube and not as bad as I thought)
    Southpark

    And some anime, like:
    Death Note
    Stein's Gate
    Log Horizon
Sword Art Online (has its' downs, especially too much romance-y stuff, but we love mmo's here don't we? )
    Accel World

edit: oh it was about ONE favorite? Well, I can't name my favorite out of them… But let's just say Southpark or something!
  6. Yeah, it's the integrated graphics library of java which utilizes opengl on most modern machines in order to perform better. You could just go with lwjgl, since performance is just better and I think it has no real limitations. Anyhow, java2d should be enough for a tile-based 2d game for now. As for a solid base though, I'd personally prefer lwjgl.

  7. Looks interesting, would definitely give it a try once an english client is ready! One thing though: I wouldn't advertise this game with an "afk-system", it's not really a feature worth mentioning. Other than that, looks solid enough.

  8. Meaning it'll only use built-in libraries of java (java2d, swing, io.net, etc.) ? What are those restrictions the devs came across? I think getting a good foundation done is the right way to go, good decision!

  9. Typed 'hi into the chatbox (with ' for broadcast (atleast thought so)) and the game got a memory error :D

Animations look too slow and sometimes stutter for a bit

Got stuck in an area that looks like a secret passage

The lack of GUI is somehow cool yet scary :D

^Those where my impressions, not much to see at this moment though

  10. I was just wondering what eclipse's opinion on the new Elder Scrolls MMO is. From what I saw (I didn't play it and don't think I will) it just looks unpolished and unappealing to me. The combat system is a huge disappointment (Tera kinda spoiled me) to me too. They shouldn't have tried to copy the combat of the single-player games imo.

So what do you think? Going to play it? Why?

  11. So it's time to get a new PC again. I want a PC for around 900-1100€ and I want your suggestions for my build.

Here is my current configuration (sorry, site is german but you can see which parts I chose):

Any part that you think could be something else/better?

Anything to get more bang for my bucks?

I want an Nvidia/Intel build because I had better experiences with this combination.
