  1. @Rusher:

    > Looks much better! :)

Yeah, I just forgot to remove the /plain/ color tile from that one. We didn't know what we were going to do for the grass. I made the bladed version by screwing around with ideas in photoshop.

    @Murdock:

    > Looking good… although the grass tile has visible bare lines that are distracting... 7/10

I made the grass tile so don't rage on Fuu about it. I saw the line, but since it's diagonal it kind of looked like the wind to me. I don't think you'll be able to notice as much when we've got the screen cluttered with foliage, roads, buildings etc.

    > I think what you should ask yourself is how well you think you did on it. Doesn't matter if it is your best, sometimes your best isn't enough.

That's like the pot calling the kettle black bro… xD

    > xd lol guys do you treat like this every member that join to the forums? there's no reason to talk like that.. I'm sorry to bother you mr. inteligent :)

Eclipse has what you would call a steep learning curve. If you can't take the heat get out of game development, hobby or no. There will always be someone to go "Hey this is a rip of such and such."
  4. @LemonDoggy:

    > My Bad (: Forgot. Your epic with sprites. Have you ever made any wolf sprites. I need some good ones. Badly. And well. You're the pro. No request. Just  asking (:

Hey! Don't ask me to do pixel art for your game! Seriously! I'll kill you!
  5. @Fuu:

    > Effort? No you didn't. Its the same exact sprite with a different palette, and barely changed shading.

I have to agree with this. We've tried to mimic two zelda games, as well as the entire pokemon franchise, and our sprites and tiles look completely different from either of those. Inspired doesn't mean nearly identical.
  6. @Corrupted:

    > I figured I would post a link because I used to get this error(because I upgraded to vista lol) and I figured that I would upload the 1 file to mega-upload to make people's with this same problem life's easier.. I hope you enjoy!!!

Vista isn't as completely horrible as people make it out to be. <_< Neither Vista or 7 have most of the drivers for vb6 at start. I have 7 and I've had to get three separate driver files myself. I just take it as the cost of using deprecated software.
  7. Since Fuu's been kind of active with this thread I'll add something. This probably won't change too much more since we're starting to work out the finer points our style. These aren't for public used in any way.

  8. I admit I lol'd pretty hard at 3, but I'm not sure it fits our game well. If the game were less serious(ie a comedy) I'd probably go for it. I liked 6, but it just seemed off to me when we pd'd it. I really like four, but we're still trying different things.
  9. @shadowdeath:

    > Yep. Cause downloading .ocx and .dll files from random media sites and people and putting it in your system32 folder is always a good idea.

Yes, because that's the fix. <__< If you get computer problems from a bad download it's your own fault.
  10. @Ryoku:

    > not in this case… getting rid of the chat box isn't a good idea, too may things are tied to it.

I suppose that's what the problem is. People go messing with things and aren't really skilled enough to rewrite the code so that they can remove things without breaking it.
  11. @Kusy:

    > I think I'll start on some RP sever if those do show up. It's not like I'm a RP nerd… it's just that RP nerds are the least annoing people to play with on a server.

This is true, but what happens when you turn on your trolling skills? The troll is strong with this one.
  12. @S.J.R.:

    > Just install every single version until it works (no need to install anything beyond the version it supports).

    > Whilst what others have said about Windows Vista is true, the solution is not to install another operating system, but instead to install the appropriate version of the .net framework.

it's more than likely 2.0 or 3\. I think vista and 7 have 3.5 to present at install or as an update.
  13. @Aeri:

    > As in the player plants them as seeds, then harvests the reward, not the resource system.

That's not all that hard to make. You need the plant growing animation, the seed, and the crop. If you've got all of that you should be able to fashion the system using the already existing resource and animation systems.
  14. Just a bit of advice, I know a lot of people use Skype, but you should be more willing to have multiple forms of contact. At least one and a back up. I usually do IM and pm's on here if people get inactive after a while. Best of luck filling out your crew.
