  1. @Crank: > Ok, good luck! NVM, I just realized downloading someone elses game to test it screwed up my source code. I'll re-download everything and work it out, thanks again
  2. Sounds good, I'm gonna go fix my chatbox so that it doesn't cut off the bottom line of chat now :D
  3. @Crank: > Well, i'm not too sure what your talking about. But from what I understood, you can change the size of the text control by simply dragging it to size in the Visual Basic 6 design mode. You can find it in frmMirage I believe. If this doesn't help, post a screen shot please. Looks about right, thank you. It's hard to get a decent reply around here sometimes, I didn't know that forms are graphical units, I was searching text.
  4. Ok, I've had this problem for a while, and I need to know if anyone else has had this problem: the bottom of chat is cut off. I'm sure it's because my screen is too small, but I need the part of the source code where I can change the size of the client or chat area so that I can resolve this issue. I'd like NOT to hear the responses: look for it, eventually you'll find it/figure it out yourself google it wait for eclipse 3 to come out. I've been desperately searching for this for a while, but it's returned no results.
  5. Been tying and failing… I keep getting 'no patch available'
  6. Setting it up was no problem. Like I said in my other post, I didn't understand how I could send them a patch without modifying their files to tell it that there's a new patch (which would be patching). What I forgot was that that file is being hosted on a direct link site.
  7. Which is what he said he's not good at XD
  8. @westin444: > this is a fair tut also: > [http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=28041.0](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=28041.0) Ok, the first time I looked over it I didn't realize that I'm hosting the pathlist.ini so that the patcher checks for that list, then uses the list to find the patches… My mistake, and thanks for re-directing me to it, even though I'd read it already. I'll try this again and be back to bug you all with more nooby questions if it doesn't work
  9. I'll try it, they might be similar…
  10. It doesn't tell me anything about actually updating someone's files though… I mean like how do I make the patch so that when someone runs the patcher it updates their files
  11. Find someone to do it for you (hire someone around here or near you if you have money, if not find a friend or someone around here who can do it for free)
  12. Ok then, I have Triad set up in my system, following the tutorial here: [http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=28041.0](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=28041.0) but I'm unsure of exactly how patching would work (the tutorial only goes as far as setting it up, it doesn't say exactly how to send a patch) If anyone could outline how to add a patch so that it updates my player's files I'd finally be done with this patching-problem nightmare, so I need to ask, please help me… I'm so close, if I can't figure this part out it will have all been for nothing...
  13. That… sounds amazingly simple, could you go into more detail? Or really, anyone who understands what he means...
  14. Alright, and it was more for cleanliness than protection. Thanks.
  15. Is there a way to hide files from view, without getting the RTE 75?
  16. Nonono, I mean the actual client window where you play the game :)
  17. @ Jax: yeah, that's what I need @DDunit: Lol, I'm not nearly that important. Imagine, me bugging the experts who have important things to do to help me install a simple updater…
  18. I have VB6 installed now (didn't before), but if you mean am I proficient (or even mildly capable) in writing and editing script and source code, then no.
  19. I was told I could find where to change client size somewhere in these forums, but as much as I search I can't find it in my source code or in the forums, so I need someone to point out exactly where in the code I need to go to change the size of the client.
  20. Right now I am trying to configure an updater made by clickteam (clickteam patch maker) found on [www.clickteam.com](http://www.clickteam.com) under resources, but I don't even think it's what I'm supposed to use…
  21. I've searched and searched. So far the best I've gotten is a few tutorials that assume I have a knowledge of what I'm doing, a few download sites for programs I can't understand, and so on.
  22. Done that, hasn't helped me much since most of the links are dead/broken…
  23. [http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=1071.0](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=1071.0) Good guide, it's what I plan to use
  24. I'll start by stating the obvious: I'm trying and failing to install an auto-updater into my game. I have found auto-updaters on the internet through these forums, and supposedly they work. Here's my question: Can someone link me to a guide or tutorial for a complete idiot to install and operate something like this, or make one for me? I know I've asked a lot of everyone here already, but I'm trying my hardest to learn these things and it's a headache when you're just starting out in coding and suddenly you have to know these things or your game will fail…
  25. Ok, I got VB6 now, all I need is a link to the topic where the source code edit is (I'll be searching for it, but I'd like a link in case I do find it and lose it or something)
