  1. It feels like there is a bit missing; however, this is my take on what I have read.

Members get quite upset when you edit their shouts for legit reasons (removing pictures of chillidog, .exe, racism, or a variety of other necessary grounds). They become even more hostile when it appears staff members are doing it whimsically and without justification.

It is best to avoid doing editing shouts/posts unless it is needed; especially, escalating the situation by repeating the action in another person’s chat.

About a warning(s) or ban(s): from the pictures and their chat I do not see any punishment warranted because no rules were broken. Unfortunately it appears that you were in the wrong.
  2. I joined Eclipse in 2006, and cut my teeth on _Sadscript_. For near a decade, I have become acquainted with numerous Eclipsians and have grown to care for each one of you. There is not a single individual here that I do not regard as a friend.

I am most elated to work together with everyone, staff and member alike, to transform Eclipse into a prosperous community. Eclipse will focus on creativity, trust, hard work, and positive attitudes. These values will not only encouraged, but shall flourish as we work together to make Eclipse a better place.
  3. The ban was warranted; however, I also believe in second chances. Bud, GA, House, Spike, Deathbeam, etc were all given two, three, or even more chances. Due to the length of time he has been here my vote is he be unbanned and watched by staff (probation). If he is willing to work on his attitude he should be given the chance. ^_^
  4. Kid showed the utmost patience and granted him greater respect than he deserved.

He was only going to intensify his attacks and unfortunately this was the only outcome.
  5. I like my hammer.

All joking aside we don't need a flaming section; this is not 4chan. Debates are good though. It always ends up with older members berating the hell out of new members forcing them to leave or turn toxic.
  6. Your inquiry concerning the condition of the forum, and the decadent state it finds itself in has been whispered amongst members and has weighed deeply upon the staffs’ minds for a great deal of time. My interpretation of the situation is going to be spoken out of respect and love for the forum; however, it will also be honest. My expectation is that other staff will do likewise.

It is openly vocalized among members that Eclipse V has been delayed; most speculate indefinitely. Tragically the current versions of Eclipse, Silver and Gold, are not receiving any updates or bug fixes. Concerns have been expressed regarding losing their game if Eclipse is brought offline, which is justified by the recent inactivity of the website. While there are several games being produced; however, the rise of custom versions are superseding our “stable version.” The primary concern is the absence of information of current events to both staff and forum members. This is specifically accurate concerning EV.

I propose we work together to generate a solid strategy on the future the Eclipse engine; moreover, infallible weekly updates to the community.  Even if Eclipse is in a dire condition, by informing the community (members and staff) it will allow us to work together to overcome it. In example: A Kickstarter campaign was produced and turning it into a community event offers an unique chance to revitalize Eclipse. This additionally generates considerable necessary hype for the Eclipse we all love. Unconsciously squelching information by frozen silence and erroneously playing at nothing being wrong damages our reputation and squanders an opportunity to elevate the community, by association Eclipse, to inconceivable heights that everyone dreamed of when Amish took over the site.

My second proposition is to increase the activity of all staff, JC, and Amish. While we have several active team members; we also have several members that remain in the shadows for extended periods of time. Staff can host contests for mapping, writing, music, art, and community games. Information regarding EV or updates on Eclipse desperately needs updated on the site weekly by JC or Amish. The rest of the staff, me included, possess no new regarding production, updates, situations, or general information concerning Eclipse. This prevents us from informing community members or squashing rumors with factual knowledge.

It is my belief the mentioned actions will help invigorate the community and empower the staff to operate more efficiently. The community and staff that remain in this community unconditionally love it and desperately desire for it to flourish. When Amish took over and JC became the head developer we truly believed change was coming and we would be assisting it for the better: we still believe.
