I am making a pirate game, but I don't know to add the sprites into sprites.bmp . I put them in but they don't appear in the NPC maker. Can someone help! Please!

Got a question, I have seen a post by somebody I think in Tutorials and it said like "Eclipse with Hamachi" but I can't find it. It even had it list on www.touchofdeathproductions.com under Tutorials. I also did the Google Custom Search at the top and I couldn't find it. help!

Welcome to my first Eclipse tutorial. In fact, it works for any of your games in Flash, Java, or Eclipse. I will teach you what makes a good game and how to advertise it. **What Makes A Good Game** 1\. Graphics For a online game to suceed, you must have good graphics. This is the first thing a player sees when he logs on. Many gamers put graphics over gameplay. 2\. Gameplay The gameplay is the next thing a gamer looks at. This is whats gonna hook, or addict, the player to keep coming back. Make the game entertaining with a good GUI and many NPCs to kill. 3\. World After the gamer gets hooked and plays for hours, he will eventually start going farther and farther away from the respawn spot. You must build a large map, dedicate at least 30 maps just to the world, taking away the buildings. I recommend 50. 4\. Other Players, Features, and much more This is basically every thing else. I suggest putting down strict rules for your game, to pervent scamming and such. Also, many people find having the whole map PK enjoyable, yet the new players like having a deisgnated area for PKing. Also remember to add new items and new maps and much as you can! Name! VERY IMPORTANT! The name for your game is critical. Adding "Online" to your name makes it sound boring yet lets the player know it's multiplayer. But I suggest from staying away from "Online" as long as you advertise it as multiplayer. **Advertising Your Game** Now that you have created your game, go through the process of plugging in your IP into the copied client, and ZIP it up and put it on www.mediafire.com . If you have prolblems with this, there are many things about this in "Questions" and in this forum, "Tutorials". In this section you will learn to advertise your game. Website Want any people to play your game? MAKE A WEBSITE! Go to www.freewebs.com or www.bravehost.com . I suggest bravehost, becuase you don't have to use their templates. Make the website, add a video about the game, make a logo, etc. Post this all on the website. Then, go to Google and search "Dot TK". You can redirect your domain so it's www.yourdomainname.tk . Pretty Cool, eh? I have used it for years. Anyways, get friends to visit it and keep content fresh! MMO Lists There are many websites out there called "MMO Lists". They give lists of multiplayer games that gamers can play. Some of these websites get visited a lot. I suggest adding one at MMO 100, you may see some other Eclipse games there too! :) Sumbit yours, and put one of those small MMO 100 button thingys on your webpage. Logos, Flyers, and more… I suggest making a cool logo in Photoshop, Fireworks MX, or Paint. This is critical. Also make flyers to give to friends and strangers so they remember the website. Also, on your website, add a "Affiliates" page and talk with other game making friends. Have it so you'll put a link to their website if they put a link to yours. Hey, I have seen a tutorial about getting Eclipse to play through your browser. I thought it was in Tutorials, but I can't seem to find it. Does anybody know where it is? ( P.S = I thought it used Himatchi) CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!

Hey, sorry I have not been posting. Final exams. :angry: But, I have been experimenting around with Eclipse, Java, and multiplayer Flash games in my spare time. I have started planning a new game and the whole game will be change resulting on one player's actions, and I hope it's gonna be very fun. But I have some problems. 1\. When you make a new character once you log-in, I want to add another blank like Name that you must pick what alliance you belong in. I guess I could somehow modify the race/class blank, but I would want a whole seprate blank. Thanks! (I may have more later!)

So, I was about to finish one of my games and I went to Chicken IP and got my IP. Then I went into my client and I clicked "Config" and there was a IP there like 127.0.0.1 or somehting. Then I pasted in my IP and clicked OK. There was also a port number there of 4000\. So then, I went to log-in and it said the server was offline.(P.S= I am running the server off my laptop that is connected(WI-Fi) to my desktop computer that obviusly has the same IP) I exited the client and tried again. I was making an RPG- single-player, until I found this program. Hi, I am new. Created many Flash and Adventure Maker games before. Hey, how would I disable the night? And, also my friend asked how do you attack a target in the game? you click on him?
