Killing carp is easy. Killing them with magma, on the other hand… Easy when they invade your basement and you live beside a freakin' volcano. My new fortress is kinda gay cuz I can't seem to hit magma anywhere, and I've already gone down a ton of stories.

Yeah, fish are deadly… I was managing one my fortresses just a few minutes ago and some bastard dorf dug out a lake filled with the little buggers. Needless to say, everyone on the lower levels died, lol. But that's ok, I just moved my basement a bit to the side and flooded the bastards with magma.
Fried fish, anyone? -

Use that tutorial. It's incredibly detailed and the best DF tutorial on the net.
And FYI, you aren't expected to play DF without first reading tutorials. It is probably the most non n00b-friendly game in existence.
Don't worry, you'll be dropping magma on goblins in no time.
Just watch out for elephants. -
