  2. Hey guys, I was messing around with some sprites, as I had just finished on my Soldier sprite, and I had decided to blank it out and make it a base. So… if you want to use it, go ahead I guess. But if you use it for your game, please tell me, cause I wanna see.

  4. Greetings,

    Welcome the Rifts of Arcadia, a vast land filled with wonder, history and treasure. A large majority of Arcadia is ruled by the Holy Knights, a fair clan which conquered all of the surrounding land.

    History and Lore:

    (I don't have it all worked out without sounding cliche and overused. But it's basically there was a Great War and the Holy Knights conquered all surrounding lands that were involved with the war and brought peace through military righteousness. There was a particular group of cities that had disproved with being conquered and had fought back and had mastered the art of Riftwalking which only a select few could see such portals and go through them, either leading to the near future or the near past. Using this power they assaulted the Holy Knights in hopes of earning their freedom.)

    Gameplay and Classes:

    Rifts are spawned naturally throughout the world, whether the lead to the future or the past is random, as well as the location it brings you to. Whether it leads to a harmless past of the real world, or a deadly boss encounter in the future will all be based on luck.

    A majority of the classes are only planned, but hopefully a majority of them will be implemented, these are.

    Solder

    Knight

    Archer

    Cleric

    Riftwalker(?)

    Rouge

    All pretty generic I guess.

    So… If you have any complaints, comments or feedback please speak your mind.
  5. Does anyone else believe that when Silverdale goes public all other ORPGs created here will be blown away? Or has something like Silverdale (Good graphics, good music, etc) been made and was… not really forgotten but was either out-shadowed or something along those lines?

    Also, before some people complain that I'm a "jealous fanny bandit" I actually can't wait for Silverdale to be released, cause you know... it looks hella awesome.

    I should most likely enlarge it, as well as I had added shading in an improved version.
  7. For those of you who went to my old thread featuring my first sprite I have revamped it, changing the actually view and adding for details to it. I believe it looks better.

  9. Hello, I am just a simple gamer, wanting to create my own and have a chance at small-time success in a MMORPG, but that is besides the point. Does anyone remember the games like Ultima Online or Old Runescape? The games that would make you stay up all night, either questing with friends or slaying dragons or all the other typical stuff us gamers usually do in an MMORPG. Those were the days, simple late nights of one hand on my keyboard, my other hand on my mouse, and a 1.5 liter of Dr. Pepper nearby; just for those short thirst breaks. Those were basically a large part of my life, I was basically one of "those kids", but this isn't a sob story, as I knew that I was a gamer kid and I was proud of it.

    I loved MMORPGs. I really did.

    But getting onto my original point. You just don't see those today, and even if you do, it's usually a pay-for-play or the fans are ignorant and idiotic. Remember Runescape back before 2007? Those were fun times, the graphics were simple and easy on the eyes, the community was diverse and it didn't matter what age group you were in as you could still meet some friends. Life was good, even if there was some occasional bugs, or bots; but who cares, we're focusing on the good times.

    I would want to make a good MMORPG.

    With that statement, I don't "I" as a single person. I mean for anyone who ever wanted to make a simple yet fun MMORPG with easy to use systems and a community that rises steadily and kicks ass.

    tl;dr: MMORPGs were good, I want to make one.
