  1. Well in accordance with the rules for every vote you got counted as an entry, so the people who won multiple times had their name entered more than once. Random name picker did the rest. All of those who won a prize please pm me with your details in relation to the prize.
  2. It's late, unexpected things happen. With having a new born I don't even have time to play Rotmg let alone focus all of my time on every detail about Eclipse. To put it into perspective I turned 20 on May 3rd and spent my day working, planning out things for eclipse and taking care of my daughter.

  4. All staff will be required to create a slack, this is where we'll communicate, plan and hold meetings.

Please send a message to Akatsuki nick containing your email so that you can be invited. Thanks.

    > The developers were treated in an extremely unfair fashion. Link made it well known that he would rather vest power in his cronies than the people who were actually working to make this community a better place. It quickly became unbearable. The final straw for me, and possibly Rob as well, was when Link wanted to meticulously control the development of the engine; he expected us to act as paid developers in an unpaid job. To me, as a full time student, this was simply unacceptable. Why should I allow myself to be bossed around when not only am I not being monetarily compensated, but also undervalued as a contributor to the well-being of this site?

I asked if you guys wanted to do a flow chart and you quit, that's so tedious. Excuse me for wanting to keep members updates on what devs were doing, which was barely anything at the time. I never said I was leader material, and I didn't have solid direction when you were a developer and you're a prime example in why you're right about my choice in staff, at-least in the past anyway.

Also sorry I didn't give you more power on the site because I didn't want developers doing a moderator's job, you got bored quickly after you realized being a dev wasn't all the glory you thought it would be. *Yawn*

I'll admit the situation with Rob was sketchy, however, he also quit because he really didn't have the time. I knew this when he had trouble sending me a 24MB file that I had been asking for a week straight. Don't mix his story up with your own personal feelings. You didn't have to retaliate, but it's obviously something you wanted with the comments you've been making lately.

I didn't want to control development, I let the development team do what they wanted, there was no result from this and members doubted you guys to begin with, except for Rob.
  6. It was already being discussed before this topic, yet again you're jumping the gun. It was just a mention that Abhi was working on the .NET engine as his own thing. I only stated from the beginning that the Java engine would be the head, maybe people just have trouble comprehending. Thought you guys were smarter, mistake on my part. A few people seem to get it <3

I mean it's only logical that any plan we think has flaws would have adjustments right? Or by your logic should we just go with something we think would fail, because it would look bad to change it before even starting it #Logicrekt

    > Which engine? (Java or .Net)

While originally two engines was the plan…only the Java engine will be developed. We already had developers in the past try to do their own engines and failed horribly. John lacked any consistency, and initiative and Crest had no time, neither had the ability to finish an engine, I'll give Seth at-least that much.

Like you said, it would only promote competition.

  8. I apologize for the delay in the introductions as the staff has been lost in the work of updating the website and other tasks. Their introductions will be forthcoming soon.
Regarding Eclipse Worlds, there is no reason to fret. EW is still a main engine on Eclipse and the development continues under the command of Seth. I am confident his hard work and perseverance will continuously progress EW to the high standards the community expects.
There has been a debate about the language of the new Engine; your concerns have been heard. After careful consideration, it is unquestionably still is in the best interest of Eclipse to continue with the language we have chosen. Please withhold premature judgment, until you see the fruits of our labor.

Benjo, I know the community fears the past repeating itself; however, that will not be our legacy. Yes, there will a Plugin System and an Asset Store. The goal of the store is to assist in generating funds for developers, artists, musicians, and other members’ that have unique talents to contribute. Rest assured our promises will not vanish along with your money.

JC, do not worry about previous mistakes from a previous owner or developer being repeated by us. The new direction of this community has never been brighter.

Since my leadership, individuals have been flocking back to the community and it has exponentially seen growth and development unseen in several years. The community and staff are working in harmony to promote a better Eclipse. The partnership and new engine will indisputably be the next logical step in Eclipse’s evolution.
  9. **Introduction.**
Hello, my fellow Eclipsians! Questions have arisen about the surge of recent updates to the site, and the new individuals appearing on the Staff team. I am delighted to announce the partnership of Jump Button Studios and Eclipse!

    **Who owns the site?**

AkatsukiNick and I are now co-owners of the website. With this change, a new Board of Directors will be fashioned with the objective of supporting Eclipse, assisting in the evolution of the website, and resolve any differences that may arise in the development of Eclipse. There will be a total of six board members: AkatsukiNick, Lycrios, Agoraphobic, two other members (that will later be announced), and I. In addition to other tasks, each member will be assigned to help maintain a portion of the site in areas each individual excels at.

**What does this mean, and what is the future of Eclipse?**
    Three words: A brighter future.
We are striving to elevate the website to a professional and structured level. Eclipse is in the process of being restructured to set a stable foundation in anticipation of Greenlighting the new engine via Steam. It will take time to for completion. Please, be patient for updates.
In recognition of the creativity, determination, and dedication that making a game requires; we have started a Featured Game Spotlight. An exceptional game that meet the criteria, and highlights an engine, will be hosted on the banner for free.

    **Community**
The community will receive regular updates and plans are in motion to get Eclipse more involved. Additionally, with the inclusion of new staff members; the rules will be reviewed and updated

    **Engine**
The new engine will be written in Java; furthermore, another developer is constructing an engine in .Net. We encourage other indie developers begin work on personal projects to help the community. Nick and I will personally strive to provide the forum with developers who are professional, dedicated, and consistent in producing a high quality engine.
Send us a message if you are seriously interested in being a developer. Although the staff are composed of volunteers, please realize this is a serious commitment.

    **Conclusion**
We look forward to working with the community to promote a friendly environment for indie developers to push Eclipse into the future.

  10. My wife told me the same thing, at the end of the day it's really their choice. Just remember she probably wouldn't want to go on knowing she chose her life over her child's. Goodluck though!!
  11. Eclipse would like to take the time to recognize this month's member of the month @[member="Henrik"]. He has done a well rounded job, shown initiative in his project, shown kindness to the other members and has also tried to be helpful. He is an example of what other members should aspire to be like.

The staff recognize your efforts, Henrik, thanks for being an example of what the community has to offer. A personal thanks from me, you're an outstanding guy.

Henrik will be awarded member of the month title, 3k forum points and a 5$ cash prize via paypal.
  12. If you're gone for long periods of time without at-least letting me know what's going on, you'll be cut from the team. With that being said, if you're going away or going to be inactive, just let me know. You don't have to go in detail, but it's a matter of order and organization, also to me it's a symbol of respect and professionalism.

If something this simple cannot be met, you'll be relieved of your responsibilities here.

The second thing I wanted to hit on is staff grudges. If you don't like another staff member leave it outside of eclipse, like any other place don't bring your personal problems to the table. If you have something to say, say it to whom it may apply when and where it's appropriate. One of my biggest things is never letting the members see any conflict between staff or further more going back to chain of command, don't argue with other staff members.

As a team we need to back eachother up when it's necessary and appropriate. If there's three moderators on a site and a members is breaking a rule in the shoutbox I should not always see just one moderator trying to enforce the rules, everyone should be supporting that mod. Not high-fiving or encouraging the member who is breaking the rule or agreeing with them (This is just an example)

This needs to stop and fast, if it's happening with a small member base what can I expect when I start advertising with the developers?

One last quick thing I wanted to address is how we carry ourselves. If you're a staff member you need to act in a professional manner and make sure you're using your authority appropriately. If you're being immature or breaking the rules we set, I don't need you here and after two warnings you will be removed. I've seen this in the past and it's part of the reason no one takes the forums seriously! I'm not saying change who you are as a person, I'm saying you have to follow rules just as I do.
  13. Oh and on that note, if none of this can be met you'll be removed without question with no second chance. Things are going to get a bit more serious around here, as far as how the staff team should operate in their field, it wont be micro management but if you can't do the very least of your job then you're taking up space.
  14. I've not made the best introduction as an owner and I have my own fair share of things to work on to make myself more presentable, however, if you're in a position here you need to respect that position and take responsibility for it. This goes for me too. I hope that if you're a moderator that you'll moderate without bias, I hope that if you're an admin you will take the moderators under your wing and be an even better example.  I hope that if you're a developer you are looking for ways to optimize the engine and give the members something to look forward to. I hope that if you're a web developer you are looking for ways to make the site better every day and completing the very minimal requests I ask when I barely ask for them.

I hope that as the owner I get to build a better relationship with the members and my team. We're all volunteers, if we want this to be anything else we'll all need to start doing our part. Many updates, meetings and conversations about things on my mind are soon to come.

Another thing is chain of command, know what role you play and when you're right to speak on something, how to approach someone and where it's appropriate to do so. We need to create a strong team before I can even move on to working on the site or the community. The example starts with us and how efficiently we will work in the future.

Sorry for my inactivity and lack of initiative as a leader.
