This topic wasn't made for a debate, the only position anyone has in this topic is to vote. I don't have to lock anything, I've said what needed to be said. Anymore derailing of this topic from anyone will result in warnings and further action if needed.
Aaron you completely took this in another direction by attacking Seth at a personal level, what the administration does as far as hiring is not anyone's concern if there is not yet a negative outcome. -
If you don't want member voting, I'll just say go on with the shoutbox avatars. I was the one who said to do a poll, I'm trying not to have this as a dictator ship, leaving choices like this up to members. Voting, in this case, is all you need to speak your mind. Not everything has to turn into an open debate or controversy, it's really just you like it or you don't.
Maybe we can make it a profile option, for members strongly against it. -

Okay max level or not, when your character dies you lose everything worn and all level progress. Storing things in the vault doesn't change the fact that it's considered perma death. Also, I'm aware he changed the name…I'm the reason he said he was doing so. I'm saying, change the topic title.

So then you haven't played realm of the mad god (Rotmg) it's a successful mmorpg with perma death and makes a great bit of money. It's not a matter of if you've seen an mmorpg like that or not, the point is that's how the anime goes. If the game mechanics wont fit the anime there's no point of naming it SAO. If you're going by a specific section of SAO such as the second arc (since it doesn't involve perma death) then make that clear. But Gun gale and the first Arc both involve death that would have to be carried over to an mmorpg as perma death to work.

Perma death isn't bad and different mmo styles go with different people. Rotmg has successfully established this. SAO will need that feature but like some have said maybe different rewards will need it. In SAO you die ingame and you die in real life, this would be the same thing as perma death since you die ingame that character has died therefor perma death.

I like the idea of perma death and shutting down the PC on death. It would make for an interesting mmorpg and the die hard SAO fans would love it.

But there isn't a computer shut down in the anime, it's a perma death based anime in the first and third series.

Tackling the idea of a sword art mmorpg will be complicated. I do hope you plan on implementing a perma death system. It's the only way this game will work. It will need to lean more towards a survival mmorpg if anything.

I can't prove anything, I've worked with him in the past and I've seen his capability, not saying it's the greatest on Eclipse. I can't prove he didn't steal it, but you can't prove that he did….. so I guess that would make each comment speculation huh?

I'm glad you all have your complaints to express, it just sucks that none of this is relevant to my ownership or me at all. I had nothing to do with how 4.0 was coded or why it was sold, talk to me predecessors about that. I'm just here to offer what I can from anyone willing to join the dev team. At-least be glad I've been giving people what they've been begging for. I've said for the longest time even as a staff eclipse 4.0 was not worthy any money…as to why people are acting so shocked, I might never understand.
Sekaru, you're right about getting hopes up. At this point it's still my choice to make, if I'm wrong then at the end of the day I get the blame brother, but for now at-least let me try things my way. My first time in ownership, I don't know how to run things as well as Marsh, but I'm learning and taking advice from just about anyone I know. It saddens me to see that all you do is actually discourage the development team instead of jumping up to help since you're such a renowned programmer. -
Lunar will happen, just not by General Awesome. It's not in the expected updates for now.

Before moving on to the download take a second to give back what you can, if you can. The site no longer runs on 4.0 being sold, I'm running it out of my own pockets. The anticipation was real, but the eclipse 4.0 source code is here. Fair warning, to programmers without good knowledge of vb6 reading or sorting through this will be almost impossible, for those more experienced programmers I've seen the source code myself and it's rather messy. There wont be support for this source code any longer as there will be a new official vb6 engine soon.
