  1. > You know there is already a Eclipse page I made with way more members right?

I know, I'm in it. Nothing is barely posted, the members barely visit, and in the last 10 minutes I've gotten this one at 40 likes. Plus this one follows under the new engine more.
  2. Check out, like and subscribe to the new facebook page to show your support. Here will also be posted updates.

  3. Any realm of the mad god players out there let me know, I'd love to start a skype group with eclipse and get some group plays going.

For those of you who have never played : [http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/](http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/)

    Trailer I made:

    Updated the video.
  4. Start cracking down on any advertising of other game development communities being posted on eclipse. If they're not affiliated with us, I don't want their members spamming this forums, it's just damn disrespectful. I've had to remove like 3 things from admins of JC's website.
  5. Instancing was removed by Irokaiser, it was his system. He didn't want it included in the open source because people I guess were paying him to add it to their game, that was not something I can stop. EO 5 "Eclipse Worlds" is the official engine. If you mean a browser based engine or something of that nature, I'm currently trying to get things in order.
  6. Are you really a rock? Were you adopted by boulders? How does a rock type? Is my real name Frank? Do you have some candy for me? If so you're a pedo. From here on out I'm calling you Pedock (pedo rock)

Please explain to me how a pikachu was able to beat your cousin Onyx.
  7. I think it depends on the individual. Some boss may have strong leadership qualities while others lack this, some leaders would make for a better boss. In my opinion it's too vague to make a choice by the picture. Again it comes down to the individual or individuals in that role. You don't respect the title, you respect the person with the title as long as they are worthy of that respect, I think in that sense the titles themselves are equal.

I must add though, being in the military you see a lot of leaders who have that position, but you don't respect them. Not everyone gets that position because they deserve it.

I don't like debates though, it's fun to hear everyone's perspective. Also, my post isn't to prove anyone wrong, it's just how I see it in my eyes. Probably wont be that way for everyone.
  8. My input, it's bad the situation turned out like this, however Johnson is very new and still learning. All the staff saw Johnson as a potential mod and agreed on him, I don't think he intentionally did anything. He messages me for just about every situation to make sure he's not going overboard, I was in that same boat when I first god mod status on eclipse a while ago. I'm not saying how this turned out was right, but he wont learn without mistakes, in all honesty I think he's trying to prove himself a good moderator and that's what I need. Someone not afraid to enforce rules due to friendships or bias.

Hopefully things pan out between you both, it seems more like a misunderstanding, but I have told him to go off the rules as well as his judgement. I reviewed this and I talked to you personally Richy, you seem to have understood. I also talked to Johnson and he seems to have understood. This is a bit more overboard than it needs to be, I've watched people even turn on you when you first became a shoutbox mod Richy. You know how hard it is to enforce rules without wanting people to be mad at you or thinking you've changed.

Everyone just needs to chill out right now.
  9. It wasn't my idea to make it profitable, lol. You guys started talking about that, I just wanted to site to pay itself, that's it…you presented those ideas to me, I made it clear time and time again I didn't want money for myself. All told. Also, you specifically excluded two of the staff, so it's pretty hard not to assume you mean everyone else.
  10. Ah, it's sad to see another person leave, but everyone has their reasons. No one seems to try understanding my situation and I can't say they could without being in my shoes, but I have problems beyond this site that are causing me stress, I can't cater to every member individually. I can't help a community who is not willing to help me.

Whatever your reason, I'm a little confused. You don't like the leadership (Me, let's not beat the bush) but I haven't done anything yet to drive this site in any direction besides trying to hire you devs. I've been constantly blamed for developers suddenly quitting, I've dealt with a lot of attitude from members for no real reason and I've just been patient as can be, I'm sure many people have witnessed this. I'm just done playing the nice guy, I'm focusing on the community as a whole and doing what I can to make the site better, people have lost sight of the fact that this is an indie game development community and have gotten too personally involved, they've let this color their feelings rather than focusing on their main objective, game development. You don't have to like the owner of Mc.Donalds, that doesn't mean you wont eat there. You just said you like Helladen's engine, that's the current objective of the site.

I'm not to blame for this, I'm not here to hold everyone's hand while I've tried to make this community new user friendly. I've accepted the fact that some people won't like me regardless, but hell, that's life dude. The only thing that drives me to make this community better and keep pushing is seeing members who enjoy this place, members who like what I'm doing and more. I'm 19, this site has caused me nothing but stress since buying it, I've had some good times though. You don't have to like me, I didn't buy the site to gain fame or be liked or prove myself to members, I already have plenty of friends from this website, don't make the mistake of thinking I need to make more.

Aerix has been doing a great job and like a real developer he constantly plans, communicates and sets goals for the engine. This was something you couldn't do, that is why you left. You made it clear in skype, it had nothing to do with my leadership abilities, in fact I've constantly asked you for advice. So do I feel bad? No. I'm slowly learning how to be the owner or "ceo" of this site, you've been a great part of my learning experience of what not to do.

Thanks Rob and others who have and will quit, there will always be someone who joins in your place. I can't force anyone to like the site, my goal is not to have you like the site. My goal is to offer a free to use 2D mmorpg engine, socializing and communication among the communication is a plus.
  11. Eclipse Origins wasn't open source that's the biggest difference, I don't know if anyone has noticed…the site runs off of one source of funds...my pockets. If anyone really wants to contribute, buying gold would be the way, it just includes perks for those who lack programming abilities...or looking for cool features, not to mention forum perks of a special member group, prioritized development support and much more.

At the end of the day all is well to the members who may complain about selling a gold version, but none of these people are heading to the donation page to help out the site at all, not much anyway. Gold is completely optional. We all work for free, Seth is devoting his time to developing this engine for people, I don't see what's wrong with wanting to give back in a sense. Everyone will show up to a party as long as it's free because they don't have to worry about anything else.

If I'm devoting my time to make the site better and the engine better for indie developers I don't see a problem asking for little to nothing in return especially since this site is not forceful like other game engines such as RPG Maker with outrageous prices, once again gold is also optional so the difference is we're not forcing you to buy a closed source engine.
  12. Have you read the topic at all? He asked what engines people used, important information about your engines for the creation of the converters. Not your thoughts on the situation. I haven't seen one post where you told him what engine you used, which to me is derailing of the topic.

    > I personally have all of my old content on EO 2.3, a converter for that would be amazing. Congrats on the new position, I have always been in support of eclipse worlds.

This is an example of relevance to the topic.

Also, it's not directed at you, just any comments not relevant in general.
  13. I was making a zombie survival game and a guild system worked great. A guild system works for just about any mmorpg depending on the concept, but if you're a competent programmer removing the code that you don't want is not hard. The features are for people who lack in the area of programming, however I would say EW will target more optimization over features in the future hopefully. Again at the end of the day you can choose to use it or not, but starting a debate here makes no sense as it's all optional, you're basically getting fired up about something you have an option to choose as far as using it or not.
  14. That makes no sense at all, Eclipse Worlds is open source like every other custom engine… I was just stating it's your choice to convert or not. He's not saying everyone will be forced to use Eclipse Worlds...basically I'm not sure why there's an argument in this topic. Eclipse members find everything to fuss about, lol.
