It is small, light weight, and faster than any-other version available. Programmed in Visual Basic, DAX OSI brings new life to your PC, with new graphics, faster processing, and better use of computers resources. It allows you to use your PC in a brand new way,…...and its Open Source!. Think of it this way.....Have you ever wanted to make your own Operating System???? Well now you can. DAX can be run from a flash drive if you so wish. Interested in how this works simple lets begin....or go to the eye candy below. The download is currently free, however I would like to take some donations to help motivate me to finish this then completley make the sourece free for downloads. If your interested contact me through here._**[LATEST VERSION HERE](https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=21B01832902C3B33!109&authkey=!AMTYKh2NdTPGFZw&ithint=file%2czip)**_https://youtu.be/4wGeOQtlmKg**NOTICE: I DO NOT KNOW WHY THE VIDEO QUALITY IS TERRIBLE SO PLEASE EXCUSE ME!**2/29/2016Working media player with album arts and tags:![](http://oi67.tinypic.com/20kd6io.jpg)2/29/2016![](http://oi63.tinypic.com/vopz5d.jpg)2/28/1016![](http://oi68.tinypic.com/akco0h.jpg)2/28/2016_![](http://oi63.tinypic.com/2z5t54z.jpg)_2/22/2016![](http://oi64.tinypic.com/5b39ew.jpg)DAX OSI has 1 internal command that starts from the sub class "CoreOperations.InitializDAXOSI". ![](http://s12.postimg.org/g2r4hjbil/image.png)
xelander
So, it's an interface that runs on top of Windows? Sounds interesting, but how does it out-perform other alternatives? I'd love if youi'd give some statistics to back some of these claims up, and aside from the eye-candy, is there any advantage to run this instead of, well, no external interface? PD
In what way can I use this to make "new use for your PC"?
Guest
Aight so for performance boost. DAX closes non- essential programs and services on your computer and gets the most resources out of it possible. Upon closing/powering off your computer it will either re-enable everything they way you had it before running DAX or if you powered down. Simply restart and it will boor up normally. DAX does not require any installation its all in a simple location. Finally I have written my own kinda take using the base of SFML but added it in the core of the project so there's no references. Another good thing to add would be the DAX.OSI.SHELL.dll. This contains all the data required for custom UI objects completely from scratch. All these UI object utilize my rendering style so there all smooth and quick witch removes any lag/flashing from visual basic.
PD
How does DAX determine "non- essential programs and services"?
Guest
There are 3 classes already set for Windows 7,8 and 10 that get all the default background processes and services that can be shut off without causes system fuck ups
Guest
UPDATE: Now the DAX.OSI.SHELL.dll allows you to customize your own settings, and software made by others to shae and use as your own theme style. Theme building has also been added. Of course the ability to handle graphics is optimized to a "T"![](http://s2.postimg.org/phyfeu5vt/image.png)

Guest
UPDATE: App store is now working as well as some developer tools and a calculator. Users can now program apps, that allow automatic or custom theme readers for anyone who customizes the look and feel of there DAX![](http://oi67.tinypic.com/2h3o0sw.jpg)

Guest
So I am in the process of making a small time IDE at the moment that uses VB or C# to write code. You can write your apps with it and publish it in the app store simply by creating an app store account inside DAX, and then simply uploading it. Accessing the app store is hidden right now becuase its not entirely ready and as far as running the apps. The apps that you download and run works the same way as you would run the terminal. Fast and smooth

AcidTumbleweed
@'daxterxx':> any exe will run using the shell style. it runs attaches itself the the main OSI processThis is a very interesting project and it looks nice too. What would make it more interesting is if you could force it to launch at startup with the installation. I could see something like this being used to design specific dev environments for employees, I would use it for something like that too. How in-depth is the customization factor? Also, any plans on making this open source? I would actually be interested in programming features for this if so.Keep it up, I've been following this since you originally posted, seems like it could achieve some pretty cool things.Side note: If you need any help with the DAX IDE, hit me up. I have experience with dynamic C#/VB scripting solutions which could also open up to VC++/JavaScript support and have written a custom IDE for a project I was working on back in the day.[[screenshot]](https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/181325_385497971485923_696878030_n.jpg?oh=8da69f731cdd8e682d1600bb49459fa4&oe=575B4579)
Guest
Eventually this will be a bootable application. It will take sometime but yes in the meantime this will be a startup application. Eventually this will be just free to download, the source will eventually be free as well, but id like to pull off some donations so I can get more resources for this.
