heplpme
How can I secure sprites in Eclipse so they don't get stolen? I remember I saw *.dat files once, instead of bmp/png/gif.
sherwin
replace the file extension by .datand replace the ".png" code on source for ".dat"it will work like loading the image itselfbut for more secured way, use a file encryption
heplpme
@'sherwin':> and replace the ".png" code on source for ".dat"are you referring to the header? If so, is there an easy way to do it? I would like to learn.
PD
Don't store them locally. Just stream them from the server.
BeNjO
@'PD':> Don't store them locally. Just stream them from the server.Either way streaming the resources or not they would still be stored locally, even if temporary. You'll need to encrypt them which will stop most users. If someone really wants to steal them they can regardless of protection.

Stating something to be true is only useful when you back it up with facts.Btw, I have been messing with the IHDR and IEND chunks and it works as intended, but I'd like to do it programmatically so I don't waste time by going file by file. If someone thinks he can help just post here or msg me. You will be rewarded : D
or3o
if someone wants to steal your files they can just screen shot everything if they wanted em bad enough.
Mohenjo Daro
Might be able to make the screen go black if the prntscr button is pressed, but that's lame because you can't share awesome moments
or3o
I was just saying if someone wants to steal the stuff bad enough they will, seemed the op was mad that no one explained how someone could steal encrypted graphics. if the printscreen button was disabled, they would need to use open broadcast software to record gameplay, turn that into screenshots and rip said graphics from that :/
Mohenjo Daro
Oh I know there's always a way, but there's ways to deter the lazier bunch away. Things are never comepletely safe
