1 2 are clients?

All data is sent from the server to clients clients do not communicate with each other.

Depends what programing langauge your using idk with vb can do it but write a block of code thatll check the "clients" task managr for certain programs then if it finds the program runing shutdown the client or ban or w.e btw this may or may not show up to clients as a virius which may make people feel a litttle ubeasy about using your game.

> Cheat Engine works only for single player games, however, there are exceptions.

Not really… Sure, it may not work for all that many things with online games, but it still works. There are many small things depending on the game that you can mess with using Cheat Engine. Like, if your game has a roof system that blocks peoples views if they are not under the same roof, then using cheat engine you can make it so the roof's don't ever appear and you can always see.

Little things like that can still be done on online games and depending on all what you do client wise (like a lot of games still have movement handled client-side).

Yes, the data packet can be sniffed and edited in transit unless they're encrypted. One of the replies above this one mentioned checks and balances regarding permissions; aside from Encryption this is the only other way (and a very strong way) to limit what individuals do regardless of whether they're transmitting bogus packets of data or not.

Ok, lets say you boot up the all famous cheat engine. You edit the gold your character has to a couple million. The server still handlesthese values so when you go to buy something that costs 1000 gold and you only have 100 to begin with it still will not work. This goes for sending face administrative packets and such because before the server will process them, the server checks to make sure the sender is an admin and that cannot be faked though false packets or hex editing. I am not saying the engine is perfect by any means but most of these little cheats/hacks that seem to work are just for show and are nothing to worry about.

Any game server should always validate incoming data before it even thinks about changing the data it has, also clients should NEVER be able to send packets that change data, admin packets being the exception because the server says "duck off" if you arnt an admin to begin with.
