Yes?I seriously hope so otherwise I'm missing a trick. The boat was a little doodle I did ages ago and then I wanted to practice with digital media and using textures so I scanned it and so on… However, I still think it looks good and apparently so to others, regardless of it's artistic merit.In other news, I made another one:It's a bit different, but still on that same theme of textures. Synergy Posted March 27, 2013 Author Share Posted March 27, 2013 Well, the second one I didn't have my scanner so I actually just took a photograph.I opened the image in GIMP, then just went over the the more distinct lines using the paths tool with "emulate brush dynamics" and "ink" selected. I used a thicker line for the major lines and progressively decreased the size for the finer details.Then found various textures on Google Images ("xyz texture") place it on a new layer. Used various selection tools to select an area I wanted to place the texture in (e.g. the hair), then inverted the selection, went onto the layer with the texture and deleted the selection, which leaves a chunk of the texture in the right shape.Basically just that. It's not very hard, really. The 'arty' bit is the actual painting/image… Which I'm not uploading. What I really want to get into is actually colouring the images by hand and just using textures to enhance the image, but I really need a graphics tablet for that..
