I stole a little inspiration from Azkanan and decided to create something for the first time using nothing but a PictureBox and a few Mouse events. What I ended up with, for all intents and purposes, is a really cool, functional learning tool that individuals can use to familiarize themselves with tile based programming. It is incredibly simple and straight-forward. There are no third party libraries that you need to learn, no networking, and absolutely no overly complicated crap that you don't need to know to do something so simple.

It is written in C# 5 (VS 2012), and I'd be happy to re-write it in C# 4 (VS 2010) on request (although C# 5 Express is readily available). If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for improvement please feel free to reply to this post or message me directly.

It is important to note that there are two sample image files inside of the project folder (*.ptp) that you can load and alter.

Definitely a good resource to teach people about tile programming. Hopefully people take use of this.
