AustinBSmith
Before i seen Editors let you Edit your class, Max level, Exp needed to level. I would like those because it would be basic actions for Basic thing.
AeroEBrown
The problem with forcing people to use VB6 is that the IDE is no longer commercially available. It can ONLY be obtained by illegal means. Should we implement a scripting language we take this out of the equation, and the people no longer need to illegally find the IDE to develop a simple game with. I would love to use Eclipse but I refuse to use an IDE I cannot download for free from Microsoft, as you can with an IDE for VB.NET, C#, and C++.Thanks,Maverick
cheatking
> the newbies need help by actually learning the code and how it works. not from downloading a pack and installing it. what if it doesn't work? then you're ducked. what if it crashes the game? then you're ducked. What if they don't want to learn to code? Exception
I had a few ideas over the concept, and I've got a WIP visual representation. **I should explicitly state that this does not mean that this is happening**, as of now, so **do not yet your hopes up** until I can come back and confirm it, as I am only doing this to prepare to take it forward with the Eclipse Staff. The faster I get comments relating to function, and how you'd want it to function is the faster I can take it to the Admins.Obviously, **if there isn't a mutual agreement, especially with Marshy Dearest and Matthew, then concepts around this stops.**I'll edit this post with any progressions.>! >! elementaldisaster
I think this concept is good for helping our community grow. If we can get new users to understand and be interested in the engine to begin with then we will keep more of them around.Personally I think it's not so much of a _lazy_ idea. It's an idea which can take eclipse to the next step.
Tivoilos
Why not gather all the custom eclipse features people have made over the years an place them in one uber eclipse version then you dont have to do this idea at all. there problem solved everyones happy script kiddies can then make abunch of unoriginal games thatll last a week. With the store idea you can learn while working with it, Plus combining all of them to Eclipse could go against copyright if they use one when the person that developed it said no. Making a game that last a week is a waste of time and maybe money sometimes the unoriginal games can be original.

Magdreamer
Making an easier to use game maker should always be the way. But not in the sense of making a full package one version fits all engine. Adding all the features into a single code would be unnecessary, messy and will result in an unusable code. This is a good idea, but I don't know how it'll work. Conflicting codes for example. Conflicting codes for example. When you code something like [http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/127116-map-tile-animations-client-does-all-the-work/](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/127116-map-tile-animations-client-does-all-the-work/) It only add code to certain files what the store would do is it would add the code and register the new files needed.
