I used to be a newbie, I'm sure we all once were… But this is a guide to get you started!------------------ - How To Install & Use Eclipse - -Alright, before you try downloading any of the versions of Eclipse, you need to get the Library Files.[Library Files Download](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/LibraryFiles.zip)[ELI2 Download](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,28696.0.html)Click the link, and download the files. Once they are downloaded, double-click and run the file named 'Library Files.bat'. This will install the Library Files for you.Once finished, you may now download Eclipse. Eclipse Evolution ~~2.7~~ 2.8 is recommended to use.~~[Eclipse Evolution 2.7 Download](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/2.7/Eclipse-Evolution-2.7.zip)~~[Eclipse Evolution 2.8 Download](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/Eclipse-Evolution-2.8.zip)Click the link and download Eclipse. Once finished, extract the folders to the destination of your choice. I put mine in 'My Documents' or 'Program Files'.After your finished, go open the Eclipse folder, then the Server folder. Double-click and run 'Server.exe'. If it runs and opens up with no errors, your in business.**NOTE:** The server must be running in order to play and edit your game.After you get the server running, go back and open the Client folder. Double-click and run 'Client.exe'. After it is opened up, you should be at the main menu, make a new account for yourself, and login. Make your character, and use him.You will start off in a black area, nothing at all. You can't edit anything yet, you need to set your access!Now go to your server, and click the tab labeled 'Players', you should see yourself on the list, if not click 'Refresh'. Click on your name, and then click the button 'Give Access' and change the number here, the numbers indicate the access, it is shown above. So lets just give yourself 5, which is owner.Now you can edit pretty much everything on your game. Go to your game, and press the F1 button, it should open a little box, with everything you can edit. NPCs, Items, Maps etc.Now you can start making your game!–---------------- - Basics of Eclipse - -Alright, now that we got you going on your game, its time to learn some basics. One of them is Paperdoll, but I'll explain that later.Lets start off with NPCs, press the F1 button, and click Edit NPC. Choose one of the slots and edit it. Lets make a enemy to fight. We'll name him Slime, and give him a slimey sprite. Click the check box labeled 'Big NPC' and find the slime sprite.You can give him assigned attributes, strength, defense, etc. Even the experience he gives and items he drops.Now save this little guy. In order to put him on your map, press F1 and go to Edit Map. Click 'Properties' in the upper-left area. Now click the tab labeled 'NPCs'. Now from here, this is where you can put all NPCs you want on this map you are on. Choose a slot, and find your slime. You can give him a specific spot to respawn, or give him random spots to respawn.When your done, go to the other tab beside NPCs and click Apply. Now save the map. Now you should see that little slime![I'LL ADD MORE HERE SOON]–---------------- - Paperdoll - -You may wonder what Paperdoll is, its a really nice feature you can easily use in your game. It is for when you equip something, say like a sword, you will actually see it on your character. Its very simple to use this...First, go to your Server folder, and find the file called 'Data.ini', then open it. This is the main info of the game. You can name your game, enter the web site and more. Now go down untill you find 'Paperdoll=0'. This is where you turn it on. Change the '0' to a '1'. After this save the file.Now if you have your Server running, you must close it, and reload it in order for the Paperdoll to occur. Once the server is up, and your logged in again, make an item. To test it out make an armor. Call it whatever, and choose on of the Icons of armor you see, in the area where you see the number '1' in the left side. Anything above this area, are items that are not used for paperdoll.Once you choose the armor you like, save the item, and place it on your map. Pick it up, and double-click it to use or wear it. You should see it on your character now!This is a very nice feature, and it adds a nice touch to the game. Like for paperdoll some people may not understand where I said "Items past the '1' area are for paperdoll" or whatever.Any other screenies I should add?
