Random Dungeon Generator?

How does the theory about this system works? i don't quite get on where to start making it and how to make a rooms with some connections..

the thing that i learned on this is

Create a whole room, divide the room into multiple, make a wholes , continue sub dividing it.. the only thing that i won't get is.. how should i make that on VB6 code and the room size must be random :P
