This is a tutorial to get Marsh's Auto-Patcher working. :P

~Just follow the steps!~

Step 1:
Download & Extract These Files To You Game Folder.  http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Updater/Auto-Updater.zip

Step 2:
Delete Auto Updater2(beta) you don't need it. Open Data.txt

Step 3:
Replace the following:

Eclispe - replace it with the name of your game.

http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Updater/ - replace it with the ftp website with your files (we will get to this leave it alone for now).

Client.exe - Replace with the file you want the patcher to run after its finished (Ex. Kuroden.exe <–Kuroden is the name of my game).

Save Data.txt

Step 4:
Open NewVersion.txt

Step 5:
Remove anything inside NewVersion.txt then add the directory of the files you want updated(Ex. I wana update Items.bmp to my GFX folder, so inside NewVersion.txt I will put GFX/Items.bmp Then always put the new version underneath it in this case 2's under all my files).

Save NewVersion.txt

Step 6:
Open CurrentVersion.txt

Step 7:
Copy all files from NewVersion.txt and paste it here, then replace the 2's with 1's (NOTE: the 2's and 1's tell what version the file is and if its up-to-date).

Save CurrentVersion.txt

Step 8:
Making your own ftp site. Download & Install: http://sourceforge.net/projects/wampserver/files/WampServer%202/WampServer%202.0/WampServer2.0i.exe/download

Step 9:
Start WampServer, an icon at the bottom right corner of your screen should pop up left click it. Now a tiny menu will pop up click "Put Online".

Step 10:
Right click the icon again, then on the menu click www directory. A folder will open, DELETE ANYTHING INSIDE!

Step 11:
Make a new folder inside www directory, name it Updates. Open Updates and put your files inside it (Ex. say I have an update for Items.bmp, I'll copy it from my GFX and paste it inside Updates folder).

Step 12:
Re-open Data and replace the old address http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Updater/ with the new address in my case http://5.226.1.225/UPDATES/

~Two Side Notes!~

You will be required to use hamachi ip for the browser address (Ex. 5.226.1.225 is my hamachi address, so I type it in the internet browser http://5.226.1.225/).
This means you will have to download hamachi to see your ip, then after that you can delete it!

All file names are Case Sensitive!

~CREDITS!~
All Patcher credits go to Marsh, he made the patcher.
Credits to the tut go to me.

I'm kind of confused. It says extract to game folder but how does that help? Do I need to put the files in the folder I give to other people? If I do that, how does it know when to change currentversion and newversion so that next time it gets run when I update it can go to the next version not the current one? Sorry if thats confusing.

Where did you dig this out of? Did you bother to check the dates?

It's written in the coding; when you upload a new version, the patcher will be able to detect that and change it's version.
