magezhilo
So, I'm super excited for this game. You can get the three birds, three dogs, and if you have pearl, platinum, or diamond you can transfer all those pokemon over too. I personally will be getting Soulsilver while my friend gets Heartgold.Which version will you guys get?![](http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/7100/1106969pkmnhgsslarge.jpg)…Also, what starter pokemon will you get? Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile?
azkanan
for starters, I hate any pokémon that isn't the original 151\. I spent so much time saving up for a Gameboy Colour and the first pokémon yellow. Then I made it my life goal to get all 151 pokémon - I remember how I felt when I first got that Shiny Charizard… at first it was all good fun, but now, it's all commercialised and yada yada. So, no. I'll get neither. :)
Pryex
Azkanan, you're not a happy person…I'm sure you're actuallky a troll in disguise...I'll be getting Heart GHold, with Chikorita.

In fact I miss the 2nd series of pokemon. I'm excited to get the starters and catch Lugia. I do just hope someday the pokemon franchise will end in an MMORPG. Monkey Boy
Platinum and Firered and yellow are good enough for me. I played Silver, its crappish.
magezhilo
Most people I've met said that Silver, Gold, and Crystal were the best versions. Unfortunately, I never was able to beat my Silver game because it was stolen. Also, in this one you can go back to the first gym leaders after the Elite Four. I guess it's the generation(series) you grew up on/were introduced to.2\. There is a Pokémon MMORPG… Or, there was? Somebody at Eclipse made it. magezhilo
I grew up off of the first 151 pokemon. I still remember that day. Ah… Hannukah evening, but besides my Jewish heritage I know there is a pokemon mmorpg. I honestly think it could be much better. Me and my friend are somewhat in the idea process of our own pokemon game. Unfortunately, neither of us know how to script.Btw, I never answered my own second question. I'm getting all three starters with the help of my friend

I still think cards are cool.I have a 60deck on my shelf, I havn't touched them for years, except when cleaning and such. Sometimes I'll pick them up, sit down and cry. Then put them back. The good old days.
Myron
Well, can't wait to play it myself too. I'm going for a Totodile. The only things I dislike about the new pokemon games are that they somehow just are some "Update" in graphics and features for the old one's. But I guess it can't be helped if the new pokemon season isn't even started yet, but still I have been eager to see a kind of Wi Fi Connection system that will make it possible for you and another person to join forces in a adventure (Like seperate modes, you can play alone in Save 1 for example and with your friend at Save 2\. Although you can't continue Save 2 without the (Original) Friend you were playing with. But I guess it's just waiting and judging for it finally comes to arrival. :azn:

I'm starting to get back into the card game because I need something to do until these games come out XD
Dark Crusade
I grew up with the 151 pokemon as well. I did however play silver and gold, but nothing after that. Recently I have wondered what the others would be like, and whether at my age it would still be worth trying. Maybe I'll try this one
Kite
I have heart gold on reserve, April 1st FTW :PI am getting shiny starters of all 3.@Kreator: I am 19, and I still buy/play them.Diamond was fun, and Platinum is pretty epic, I would recomend that one for you. :)
Myron
Meh, I also grew up with Blue/Red/Yellow (151 Pokemon) but when Gold came and I was like in the middle there was some crap about 'You beat the Championship, 94 times (Or something like that) and you will get your own gym.)'It really bores, when you already know the way, what to do and where to get it.

magezhilo
I've played Red, Yellow, Silver, Emerald, Ruby, Firered, Pearl, and Platinum and loved them all. I don't care that I'm getting older because these games bring back memories of saturday morning with my brother watching the new episode of pokemon while we attempted to catch Mewtwo. At the moment, this game is all I have to look forward to this year lol.@Monkey:> @Kreator:> > > I grew up with the 151 pokemon as well. I did however play silver and gold, but nothing after that. Sure the pokemon are the same and it's a remake, but it keeps pokemon fans happy. I've been to several websites that really wanted a remake of the silver and gold versions and nintendo gave them one. Also, a lot of people that want to get all 493 pokemon had a little trouble getting the Johto pokemon. So, now they won't have as much trouble sense this is out. Because people dont make GBC's anymore, so Johto pokemon are rare. They rerelease this on DS, to make something called free money.
magezhilo
You do make good points ;)Although, I know they're getting money for all this and you may think people are blind that they are just greedy bastards. Well, I'm not atleast, I'm still going to buy it because platinum entertained me and of course…. I want LUGIA!!!!I still think the game will be fun and I don't care what the company thinks or gets.Btw, the **gyms** changed, **trainers** changed, you can go to **Kanto**, it has **Wi-fi**, you can get all pokemon now with not too much of a hassle, **bosses** changed, and they added a few **minigames**, oh and this version has the **battle frontier**. Although the changes are minor they are changes.
