**Afterlife**

**NOTE: Game is still under heavy construction!**

**~ General Information ~**

Afterlife is going to be a medieval game, free to play and tons of areas to explore and creatures to encounter with great loot. There will be many features, and a wide variety of items and bosses to conquer. The game is being made in flash, all the coding and such is being developed now.

All graphics are 100% custom, besides the sprite! :P

**~ Development Team ~**

**~ Storyline ~**

Over the lands of Kremin, the Great Monarch Lexima has spread his dominion over all of the free peoples. To ensure his power, he visited an ancient Temple which is rumored to hold some Mythic Power, believing it is his by right of Dominion. However, as he approached, the guardians and caretakers of the Temple, the Mythic Legion, denied him access and refused to recognize Lexima's lordship over them. Appalled and slighted by this, Lexima returned to his capital and called on any powers he knew to help fuel his own desire and need for this great Mythic Power. As his strength and corruption grew, the Mythic Legion's influence and power began to wane, until Lexima in his pride decided now was the time he would avenge the insult upon him! His full power assaulted the temple with unrestrained fury, striking down many of the Mythic Legion, until the remaining survivors of the Legion gathered together and struck him down on the temple stairs.

Lexima was defeated, but his will and envy for the Power remained. Over time his corruption lingered at the Temple until it even got through to the weakened and forgotten legion left behind. Once the seed of corruption got hold it would not be denied its revenge on the Mythic Legion. The guardians of the Temple faltered and the corruption of Lexima finally reached the power, using it to restore himself to the world he once ruled. And will once again hold dominion over…

**~ Features ~**

Download Free - It will be right on the web site for the game, so if you have an internet connection you can most likely play the game!
WASD Movement
8 Directional Movement
Pixel Movement - You don't move by tiles, you move by pixels, creating a smoother way to explore the vast lands!
Click To Attack
Skill Bar  - Assign skills to a skill bar on the screen, with key shortcuts. (numbers 1 - 9)
Skill Trees - Each class will have three skill trees with their own set of skills in each tree. How you build your character is up to you!
Animated Weapons
Character Customization - Select skin tone and hair style!
Professions - Every player can level their own professions, from mining, to enchanting!
Auction House - Buy and sell items to and from other players!
Dueling Arena - A place where players can bet on their fights, and try to become champion!
Party System - Party up with others to diminish bosses together!
Friends List

**~ Classes ~**

Warrior - A skilled fighter who uses brute force to smash his way through enemies. The warrior's skill tree consist of Combat, Frenzy and Guardian.

Rogue - Swift and noble class, uses daggers to slice up his foes. The rogue's skill tree consist of Stealth, Fury and Poison.

Ranger - A precise and smart class, uses bows to keep his distance from creatures. The ranger's skill tree consist of Marksman, Poison and Incendiary.

Wizard - Wise and intelligent class, by using spell power he can inflame, freeze or zap monsters! The wizard's skill tree insists of Fire, Ice and Lightning.

Swords - 1 & 2 Handed
Axes - 1 & 2 Handed
Daggers
Bows
Staves

Cloth
Leather

**~ Professions ~**

Mining - Mine ores.
Smithing - Smith weapons and armor.
Fishing - Catch fish.
Cooking - Cook a variety of things.
Woodcutting - Chop down trees.
Crafting - Carve logs into bows and staves.
Enchanting - Enchant equipment, varying from adding damage to adding attribute bonuses.

Never been a fan of HK sprites, myself. They are much too big, in my opinion, and as such, each frame is a large movement.

Also, the lack of toes is slightly disturbing. I keep looking at it and it just haunts me. xD

Not really much more to say than that. This is obviously a work in progress, so I'll reserve some judgement until later.

Yes I did, and sorry Marsh I'll keep that in mind.

EDIT: I think I have myself a pixel artist. He is not on these forums, but he has been doing pixel art for 6 years, and 2 years as a career. He is cheap, fast and talented! :)

Shit I forgot to ask lol, I did that like, first thing this morning? I think….

I'll ask her and if she lets me it stays, if not its outta here.

Uhm, maybe I can make the leggings just for you to use? :P

Also, adding a new "feature"

Since its flash, it will require NO DOWNLOADS! :)

It will be right on the web site so you can play it anywhere! (If you have a computer capable of running flash on a web site.... Also an internet connection as well :P)

Robin doesn't sugar coat his words… He pisses on them then takes a crap on them.

I don't really see what the prob is with that sprite. If I look in the mirror I notice I have muscles like this sprite, whereas Robin looks in the mirror and sees this:

the "muscles" on your sprite are too round and defined, makes them look like rolls of fat
the chest and back look fine to me, its just the arms and legs that look funny

also, if your gonna have 8 Directional movement, are your sprites gonna have 8 directions too?

I really think you should use a smaller or simpler sprite base. I never liked the Half-Kaiser or w/e sprites because they are large and highly detailed; very specialized, and it takes tons of extra work to add anything to it. Not a very good base, there is something to say for simplicity in your game's graphic design (I mean with that size sprite, it just doesn't scale well on the size most Eclipse style games are built around).

You don't need to have 8 directions for the sprites. Take for example zelda for super nintendo, when you moved northeast it used the same graphic as going eastwards. Same for southeast. And when moving northwest or southwest the same graphics are used as westward.

Yea the only problem with the sprite is that it has Popeye forearms. No biggie.

I don't see rolls of fat at all.

Also… They will be geared up!!! People won't be (well not many, hopefully) will be running around naked.

It is being made with flash, not Eclipse. Unless you knew that already… Then nevermind.

I take it you've never been out of Canada. Other countries, surprisingly, do have different cultures.

As for the sprite, muscles are not defined like that.
