aaaron
Hey, so I was going through my room cleaning it and I found a game programming book. The title is Beginning Game Programming: Second Edition by Jonathan S. Harbour and I was wondering if it's a good book to learn some C++ and C.Here's a link to Amazon's Book:http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Game-Programming-Jonathan-Harbour/dp/1598632884

Marsh
If you already have the book you might as well try it out. See if it works for you. Personally i just like fiddling around and googling things until it works. Those books never did much for me.
munro
Jonathan Harbour writes good resources on game programming, I have the third edition of that book and it's a fairly good resource. My only recommendation is don't run in thinking the book holds your hand, while it is meant for beginners is does assume you're comfortable with C++ and spends no time explaining anything other then simple Windows API and Directx. Drummerpete
@Robin:> You can't learn how to program from a book.Doesn't mean it can't help.
Robin
@Zסmbie:> Doesn't mean it can't help. You missed the point.Programming it's learning a syntax or the nuances of a language. That's all a book can teach you. A programming **language.**It can not teach you how to be a programmer.
saadhamza
It Can teach you to program. It Can't make you a programmer.
