(Photoshop) How To: Seamless Art

First, create a new image, any square dimensions, but for this tutorial, we will be doing 32x32, the standard tile size.

Next, pixel (or whatever you want) your tile in the suggested pink area.
(It can overflow, this is just so you cover the seams of what will be your tile)

Next, go to Filter > Other > Offset, then set it to 16x16
(this should be half of what the image dimensions are, in this case, is 16)

Now, you can see, that what you pixeled before, is now on the outside, and will tile perfectly.

Then, to finish it off, just pixel in the blank spot. Everything should flow easily.
The only downside to this method, is that you need Photoshop. I am unsure if GIMP, or something similar, has an offset filter.

If you are aware of other programs that have this feature, and are free, feel free to let me know, and I will do a method for that free program as well.

There. Very simple, yet very effective.
