Though I can't see that giving you an error. I sometimes get the same error when playing Robin's Crystal Shire. (Running Windows XP.)

Then try running the .exe. It can't run the resources to run the exe because you didn't unzip it properly.
bloodless
what to you mean by extracting it to its own directory?
ToshiroHayate
If you're using Winzip (Windows default extractor I believe.) : Right click the .zip folder. On the little menu that appears, should be a "Extract all" or something saying extract. (I don't use Vista or Seven, so not sure of the details. If someone could fill him/her in on it, I'd appreciate it.) and it should extract to a new folder with the same name.

ToshiroHayate
The only thing I can think of now is that you didn't install the library files.http://www.robin.freemmorpgmaker.com/eo_runtimes.zip <– Have you downloaded and ran this yet?
Lavos
Looks like your missing files that the exe is trying to read on "data files" usually its the image issue.
