Well I need a place where I can get some feedback for my work so without further due here is Pokemon Chaos Realm.

Background

PCR has been in development for 3 years now. Ive been on and off this project for along time. It all started after Pokemon Crater closed down. Saddened by this I started searching for game engines to make a pokemon game. After jumping around I stopped at Eclipse. The game started of as Pokemon Destiny and was a PMD style game using TE. A year later I jumped to EE and started working on a turn based battle system. I had by then gathered a nice little team which made good progress but due to my laziness and a few other factors the game never took off. When EO was released I started to remake the game using it and now im here.

That just a quick backstory to the progress of the game :cheesy:

Story

The story is in the works but I do have a general plan of what I want it to be. The story will be revealed as you progress through the game.

Current Status

The game is currently at v3.5(version numbers don't matter, do they? ![](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.png)). The forum is down and the game is coming at off hiatus or shall I say I'm coming out of hiatus ![](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.png) My main goal right now is to rewrite all the core systems like battle system etc.

Thanks. Here a look at the custom sprites we will be using. They are based on a basic sprite I got from somewhere :P

Ugh… I don't like how Pokemon Cyrus runs. The movement of the players really bugs me. The engine uses too many forms. It's very unprofessional. I know there are going to be people that come in here and argue that it has "100+ players online daily!", but that doesn't change the fact that it's really one of the only operating Pokemon games around. I could name a few others, but the competition isn't there. Most people dive into any Pokemon MMO they can get their hands on since it's, well, Pokemon. That reason doesn't justify the lack of gameplay mechanics that went into designing it overall.

When I read it the first time I was like what? I dont really get what your trying to say :P Something about gameplay, right?

I do apologize Zesh for taking ur topic for this XD

But I must agree completely… I am slowly personally working on a Pokemon Game but I am not releasing any info on it or anything just because it is a lot of work that I may not be able to finish. Cyrus is only successful because it has no competition. I must also agree with the forms. DirectX is very easy once you take the time to learn about surfaces, the backbuffer, and how the camera comes into play.

^^ I would highly recommend looking into this.

jc has made some interesting things in regards to Pokemon. I really liked his idea of bringing back the HG&SS where your 1st Pokemon follows behind your player in the game. I was disappointed to see it taken out in White and Black. It's alright to get your feet wet with a game using forms and such, but be aware that you will basically have to remake everything to form a professional version of your game. The transition will not be easy, but it's how we all learn(ed).

Well I actually think the 'transition' is going to be easy as soon as I set up my dev machine again. I'll update the first post soon with info of the classes which will be avaliable.
