My graphics

I cant believe I'm making one of these threads. But I wanted to create a game using my own graphics.
So, here are my first two tilesets. The type of game this is going to be is from the top down. I got my inspiration from a Java shooter I saw a few years ago.

Here are my first two tilesets. Ones grass, the other is sand. I hope you can tell the difference.  I hope to have more soon.

Over all picture.

A brand new Sprite, this is the view I had in mind.

Those tiles are very good for a first time. I know, just as much as anyone, how hard it is to get the seamlessness between each tile, as well as the transition between material. As far as suggestions go, I would say, for now, stick with and improve on the two current materials you have got now (Grass & Sand) until you think they look just right.

I'm just glad your transitions look nothing like mine at the mo. My grass edging reminds me of Martian Pube….lol.

They're just direct dithering. It looks a bit wrong. You should also cover the fact that the grid is entirely visible and add a wavy pattern to the sand.

I wouldn't use the example characters with them, I'd make your own. They're also a little _too_ similar to the RMXP tilesets, I'd try and shift away from that a little more.

Looks good, though. Keep it up :)

much, MUCH! better. Although there are still signs of repetiveness, it is not easily acknowledged without a fairly close glance, and of course, with an thread like this, there would be a lot of close glances. That is a very good improvement, however.

Spazzing out with the brush tool in MSPAINT over someone's perfectly good sprite doesn't constitute pixel art.

Your ground is textured, not pixelled.

Neither of these two things constitutes pixel art. Hell, I'd say calling them 'art' is going to far altogether.

Change your own title.

Anyways, art is horrible, scrap it all and read a tutorial.  Also, your sprite isn't top down.
