I've made this tutorial to the best of my ability, using fantastic teachings from the wondrous Kreator, he deserves everything he has, and everything he will soon receive.
Alright, finished product.

This definitely doesn't help. Some of your tips are also bad advice. A bright saturated colour can often 'make' a palette, particularly with beautiful ambient shading or fantastic highlights. You also haven't given any decent examples of shading of which you've properly defined the process.

To clarify the point you made about shading according to a light source; the closest 'shade' to the light source is often never the brightest, nor in your example is it darker because of some invisible 'part' blocking it. The darker shade supporting the line-art is partial to a process known as anti-aliasing. If the shade adjacent to the line-art was the brightest shade, it would look fucking retarded unrealistic. Factors such as reflection and surface type determine how you should shade and use the lighting source.

Keep pixelling, learn as much as you can from some of the great work by artists such as 'fool'. Look up their work, and observe. You can learn so much sometimes by just closely looking at pixel art.

Didn't I say the shade closest to the light-source isn't always going to be the brightest?
And can you please say everything you just said again, but in a way I can actually understand?

And it seems I put the wrong picture in the bit with the jester hat, my bad.

Yes, and you also said implied invisible 'parts blocking the lighting'.

No

Because I'm completely serious and don't have a giant grin on my face right now.

> Lol lock this thread, from here on out it's pretty much pointless..

Not even, bro. I'm going to make an honest tutorial.
Finished.

Read it.
Why would I waste my time remaking it if I wasn't trying to improve?
