Godlord
"IP=localhost" in your config should be "216.201.246.66" for your friend.Yours faithfully Stephan.

waseemk
Um, use it to make a server and put that IP. The reason why I want to remove it is because everyone who plays has to have hamachiNow if you want more details make your own post.

Zappy
Okay, I'm sure I can help you. Almost positive. You most likely DON'T have a static IP address. What you need to do, is take that IP address in your command prompt, the one specifically titled "IP address"(192.168.1.123)I hope XP is nearly the same as Vista/7 in this department,Now, you need to go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre. Look for "Change adapter settings", it should be on the left area. You'll see a few connections, right click the one called "Local Area Connection 3". (This is because that's where we're getting your IP from earlier)After right-clicking, Go to Properties and in the middle box search for "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).Select it and hit the properties button below. We're nearing the end now ~!Instead of having 'Obtain IP address automatically" selected, select "Use the following IP address"Fill it out like so:IP Address: 192.168.1.123 (From earlier)Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1Also select "Use the following DNS server addresses" below that. You only NEED to fill in one, so fill it in with 192.168.0.1Hit OK and bam, you should be port forwarded Im HOPING. (if you did everything else correctly). This is a step I had no idea about until last year, which works perfectly for all my server hosting needs.Hope it helps ~(Just in case you weren't sure, you still have to use your external IP to allow your friends to connect(the IP chicken IP))

Zappy
No, if you've done all this, and you still can't host a server from your IP, double check your firewall. That's the only other advice I can give you…
waseemk
I have a problem… When i do the settings you told me to, my internet does not work... So i have to take them off for it to work. So is there anything I can do to prevent this.
waseemk
I think this is why my game is not working… is it? Does it matter if my computer is using a wifi router to connect. I have more devices using it and I noticed that they all have the same ip (the chicken one). Does this effect me?
Gwen
what version of windows are you running?show a screen shot of your cmd prompt after you run ipconfig.show a screen shot of you windows firewall turned off.show a screen shot of your router again.show a screen shot of your data.inishow a screen shot of your client.inino all of your devices will have the same ipchicken ip. that is what port forwarding is for. It says that when traffic comes to the "ipchicken" address on this port forward the data to this local ip (192.168….)
waseemk
I don't know what the data.ini and client.ini is but i got the other photos. BTW my router changed but I put the port forward and static ip on it. I am running windows xp version 2002 professional service pack 3\. The photos are below.![](http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p584/waseemk/port.jpg)![](http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p584/waseemk/newcmd.jpg)![](http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p584/waseemk/firewall.jpg)Btw I have a static IP (I used this program that does it for me. abhi2011
@ Whoszuvo Use the Hatmchi I.P and the top of the client as IP. And keep hatmachi running the server is online.
waseemk
Yes i tried this with hamachi disabled, but does it matter that my whole internet system is using a firewall (SONICwall)? Sorry, but I just recently found out. Is there any way to use hamachi without have everyone who owns the game to have it? What I mean is can I keep it open without the players having hamachi open? That's the reason I don't like hamachi. Sorry I didn't post for a while, accidently removed email notices.
GeminiXcasorm
before any of this you must have your pc directly connected to your modem! or at least that makes it easier -_- but as i was saying its diff for every modem type, some cant even handle forwarding that well :( sry but its true. i had to buy a new modem for forwarding issues
