Anybody up for an EU3/Risk ~like game?

Howdy folks. I'm currently drawing up a territory map of Europe.

I'll be making the game so that you spend time & wealth improving your territories, capturing new territories and improving your army.
You'll also be able to form diplomat treaties with other players and NPC nations.

It's a simple little game that will, hopefully, explode. The fact that it's so simple allows for relatively quick turn updates and a high player load.

I'll be starting the game in 0BCE, and to allow for technological advacements, to a degree. One turn would be 3 months.

I'm open to suggestions for ideas for the game, to make it better/more fun.

Less complicated, fewer territories, more freestyle roleplaying.

I want to be able to just hop in for 5 minutes and roleplay, I don't want to have to deal with complicated rules and such. I could invite my friends over and play a board game if I wanted that.

That said, I tried to do something a bit similar to this a while back. It was very dumbed down, but still few wanted to play. I would love to partake in this assuming it's a bit more streamlined.

Roleplaying gets very complicated in record keeping, in my forum game hosting history.

That said, I haven't come up with a decent GM-free roleplay before, nor attempted to.

I have a few friends who want to play this.
