    OH COME ON!

Look, its not too hard to understand. I am 13 so age doesnt matter. Go to Windows Control Panel. Click on Windows Firewall. Click on "On". Go to Exceptions. Click Add port. Put in the name Eclipse and the port 4000\. CLick OK. If you have a router, go to a browser on a computer. Type in your routers IP address (the IP your server tells you) like this. http://192.168.1.103\. A popup should come up saying username, Password. Leave username blank (unless it has had its username and password defaults changed) and put "admin" as the password. If this box does NOT pop up, try to get on the computer that you set up your router with and try it again. While on your router settings, go to whatever holds the ports. It will most likely be in an applications and gaming menu. Once you find where it is, put in the name of the port (Eclipse) and the port 4000\. If it asks for port___ to Port___, then put 4001 in the second blank. If it asks for Protocol, click on the dropdown menu and select "Both". Click Apply or whatever, and give your IP address to your friends. You probably have a changing IP address as well. Unless you have a hosting service (very costly and business-like) your IP address changes. Just update it on your website. So, you should be done. If you read these directions and do everything EXACTLY how I told you, you should have port forwarded your game. I hope this helps!
  2. Good point all of you. *sighs* now for the GUI first…I can't wait to tell my mappers...
  3. I am using TE because I was a noob when I started using Eclipse. I now understand almost everything in Eclipse. So, after creating a game that is being developed at a nice pace, we now have somewhere from 100-150 maps. The big question is…Should I keep all my maps and stick with stinky little TE with no scripting commands available, or should I convert to EE 2.7? We will lose all of our 150 maps (and that will not be fun), but we will gain more commands, options, and capabilities from the switch. Should I keep old TE with my work in progress, or should EE be the new game?
  4. He means, how to make them warp to that map when they touch the door tile. All you have to do is put a warp tile which (on the mapeditor) is located under Select Type>Attributes>Warp. /Warpto *map bumber of the room you want* to get to the room you are going inside (create a whole separate map for this.) Since you should be the admin of your game, you can type in /mapreport and select whichever map you would like the room to be in by double clicking it. You are then warped to that map. From there, just stand on the place that you would like people that enter the door to land on and type in /loc. After you type that in, use the information that it gives you. Go back to the map with the door, go into the mapeditor (/mapeditor) and click on attributes and click on warp. A small box will come up. You then need to put in those co-ordinates in the box. After you have done that, click on the door and the warp is placed. In oder for players to get back to where they came in, type in /loc before you warp to the room map. Now, go to the room and /mapeditor. Click on attributes, warp, and put in those coordinates. Now, click on wherever the exit back is and another warp tile will come up. Now, the editing begins. Players can now get to that room, and back to where they started! Have fun!
  5. Oh dangit. I'm gonna have to script the rest of my tiles then lol. Thanks for your help!
  6. Is it possible to go from TE to EE 2.7 without losing data? I am currently trying to make my game more versitile with options and such. TE doesn't have as many tile options as EE 2.7 does, and that is why I want to switch. Can I just copy the maps from my old server and stick them in the new server folder? I mean, not just the maps, the whole thing, but will I be able to run it on the 2.7 client with all my old maps?
  7. Help needed!! Pokemon: Rivals needs your help! The game is being developed and is sure to be a big hit! We have some problems though. I will get to them later. First, a run down of my game! Pokemon: Rivals is a pokemon based game with a 2D shooter mixed in (funny, I know). The game is quite fun (as I have heard from people who play) right now, even though this is still the beginning! In the game, you can buy items, explore maps, buy houses, and all other things that you can do in Eclipse games. However, the maps are a blast! The team of 4 highly skill mappers (including myself) are constantly developing new areas for people to play on! We have 42 maps and counting already! The items are nice, with sprites by myself, and NPCs + Characters of Team Aqua and Magma (plus others that are custom made). You are able to shoot other players, NPCs, and all else practically! Here are some screenshots of in game. They are .jpgs so they look sort of bad right now. ![](http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa4/cybergear88/Screenshot0.jpg) ![](http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa4/cybergear88/Screenshot1-1.jpg) ![](http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa4/cybergear88/Screenshot2.jpg) ![](http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa4/cybergear88/Screenshot3.jpg) The forum is located here at [http://pokemonrivals.webmmorpg.net](http://pokemonrivals.webmmorpg.net). I update the forum every day with the maps and items that were added either the night before or that day. Now…Down to business. The game is very laggy at the moment because I am hosting it. I don't have very fast internet or a fast computer. The game lags a lot right now and I need that problem solved. Also, I need a good scripter. i would do it myself, but I have no experience whatsoever in sadscript. I have improvised a little, just testing tiny little things out, but nothing good. Thats what I really need. I also am looking for some handy GMs, and good mappers. Here is a little list of what is needed: !!Server Host!! -------------- Mappers: -->Rooms ---------- ---------- Scripters: ------------ ------------ GMs: ------------ ------------ The Server Host is what I need most. Somebody with a lot of computer space, good internet, and an attitude to serve a worthy cause. I will need to figure out how to transfer the server data to the host, but that shouldn't be much of a problem... Thats it, you've seen it! Please take a look at this and think hard about helping! We are counting on you!
  8. How to I get the server to send data to my game? for right now, all it says is "getting server data" forever. The news wont load up for some reason. How do I get this to go away!? it has been like this for about 10 minutes. I am not exaggerating. How do I set it up so that this actually works? When I put in a bad IP address, it says that the server is offline. But when I get the right one, it doesnt work. I am using Eclipse Evo 2,5
  9. Is there any limit to how many maps I am able to have? I was just asking because I have gotten a runtime error before (#13) because of having too many maps (I guess. it was one of the things I changed) I don't want this to happen again, since my game is currently online. how many do you suggest is a good number if I am doing a pokemon game? It includes rooms, routes, cities, dungeons, and other things. Btw, I am using Total Eclipse.
  10. Can anyone help me? I am using a custom tileset that is all pokemon tiles. My problem? You should have guessed that I cannot make the black behind the tile transparent. the black is EVEN Grn=0, red=0, blu=0\. Just plain black. I don't understand why the mapeditor doesn't enterpret the true black as the transparent color even if the tilesets are USEING true black. Can somebody explain how to make the tile I want to mask on top (like for instance, the tiles don't actually mask. There is black behind the tile, not the tile under it.) instead of having the tile I want to use practically replace the one underneath it?
