  1. I've pondered this before, but I also think about this.. Some species of animals can only see certain colors. Lets say there is a monkey that can only see red and blue. He cannot see green. To this monkey, the color green does not exist. It is unimaginable and uncomprehend-able to the monkey. What if we were like the monkey, in the sense that that there was a color we couldn't see or comprehend. Thats as far as my brain goes XD . Would that be possible?
  2. Small update, which includes: -New bushes -Doors -New Interior Floor Tiles -Fixed Crates -The first few Shadows (Lighting Dynamics) -Cornered Roofs ![](http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/4215/conceptarthouses.png)
  3. Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work (Ted & Francis Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiYv22E3wlw
  4. @Kusy: > It all looks flat. The trees, the grass and the terain leveling - they look like one gray pulp. You need to make those trees stand out more on the grassy background, you need to show where the cliff ends (2 pixel border is obviously not enough). Alright, I'll try using a different color palette on the trees and see how it turns out. @Kusy: > Also about the houses, I do realise it's a generic SNES style but it DOES look like inspired with EC because EC was somewhat announced lately, or just a coincidence but still a fishy one. I've never attempted 16-bit graphics before, so I looked at what Kreator was doing with Elandor Chronicles and looked at some other SNES games for inspiration for the houses. I then decided to go with the stone wall and classic 'red-patched' roofs. @Kusy: > if you are making more detailed and high cliffs, why the walls shouldn't be that way? If you are making big cave entrace - well the houses should have entraces too. It just doesn't fit overall. The idea is not bad but "classic" aproach to houses could fit here better. I wanted the cliffs to be taller than the house's walls. And, yes, I do plan I adding doors to the houses in the future. Thanks for the critiscm, I'll go ahead and try adding more depth to the tiles
  5. Haha yup. You have to look really closely XD . Theres one just to the right of the guy at the top
  6. Yeah, i've fixed them up a tad, but all-in-all they'll stay pretty similar to the ones you see in the mockup, just different colors maybe. And yeah, I goofed up on the crates and the weeds/bushes. I just recently fixed the them, they had the wrong perspectives (the crates were iso, and the bushes were shown top-down). Now they share the same perspectives as everything else. Thanks everyone
  7. Yeah, I agree they're a lot like Elandor Chronicle's house tiles… I'll try to mess around with them so they're not as resemblant.
  8. Hey everyone, I've just completed some dirt tiles and some house/interior tiles. You can find them in this new mock-up below. Feedback is appreciated! ![](http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/4215/conceptarthouses.png)
  9. Alright, thanks for the help everyone. Here's a small update. I've tried adding some more depth to the wall and cliffs ![](http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/92/conceptartdungeonmockup.png)
  10. @Kreator: > We have our first non-human. And he is lawful good! SLAY THE GNOME, MY BRETHERIN. Let our empire stand tall! Rofl ;D .
  11. You Are A: Lawful Good Gnome Wizard (1st Level) Ability Scores: Strength- 13 Dexterity- 14 Constitution- 15 Intelligence- 13 Wisdom- 13 Charisma- 13 Alignment: Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest. Race: Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to build things. Gnomes stand 3 to 3.5 feet tall and live about 350 to 500 years. Class: Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.
  12. I quite like it. Nicely done
  13. Hey guys, I recently posted my grassland tileset in a topic and got some good feedback on it. I'm continuing to work on new tilesets for my upcoming project, and Im currently developing a dungeon tileset. Here is a mockup showing all I've done so far. Comments and criticism would be great! ![](http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/92/conceptartdungeonmockup.png)
  14. I'm a huge fan of this fan of this game, been playing nonstop since release
  15. @Ddunit: > Those are nice pokemon tiles! > Did you ask permission to the author before posting here? Ehhh, good point XD . Haha srry everyone, perhaps I should take them off?
  16. @Niko: > Id try to add a bit more contrast between the grass and trees as well. They blend together a bit to much as well. Are you using the same pallet for both? Yes, I am. I'll play around with it and see how it looks. @Ddunit: > Sprite reminds me of FSO, very nice. Haha I love the sprite too, but I didn't make it clear that I didn't make it. I'm using charas-gen as well as some self-done pixel work for the sprites.
  17. Thanks for the advice Niko. Here's yet another small update. ![](http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/2223/conceptartgrasslandmock.png)
  18. Haha dang, 5000 posts :O. Congratulations!
  19. Haha, yep. Here's a small update, im currently reworking the cliff. I feel like im on the right path, but im still not quite there yet. Thanks Kreator. Keep in mind, i didn't make these sprites, im using charas-gen, so i may need to tweak them some so that they suit the tiles better. Anyways, heres another mock up with the newest version of the cliff. ![](http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/2223/conceptartgrasslandmock.png)
  20. Haha thanks engimax @ᴆᴎᴧ: > Would you ever consider releasing a retro tileset? :3 Not this particular tileset, since I'm probably going to me using it for a project of mine, but in the future, there is a chance :cheesy:
  21. Alright awesome, I agree with you Ghost, the cliff is kind of flat. Thanks for the help
