What the hell is this shit?
  2. Open it with a hex editor. See what's actually there then do a find on that instead.
  3. VB6's source _is_ plain text. Try streaming it to a .txt file first to see if it's a file type issue?
  4. @S.J.R.: > I am actually questioning myself why you are looking for code, and why you seem to lack the ability to rewrite the object-oriented code as purely imperative code. > > Yours faithfully, > Stephan. Pretty easy answer that we both know. ;]
  5. These are only as popular as the systems which use it. I suggest you go around and convert over the more popular tutorials yourself.
  6. @Captain: > It was a joke, bro. You know? Blaming all the shameful shame on you? I take it my deadpan routine was lost on you?
  7. I've been put in charge of a support forum for the NHS. It's programmed in ASP.NET and C#. Half of it is closed source compiled binaries made in C#. I have come to detest this language. The entire thing is overly abstract, the conflicting styles of various developers clash horribly and _everything_ is shoe-horned in to an OO paradigm. I've also been doing my usual thing of creating small desktop applications to handle tasks which can be automated. C# is the _de facto_ language in the company so I need to use that. My God does it overly complicate the most basic things. Oh well. As much as I love arguing on the internet, at the end of the day you learn what the most marketable skills. Honestly if you want a job for life you learn some of the most archaic languages you can. If no one else knows how to work your system you're never going to get replaced. I'll probably pick up this language eventually. It's very popular in Health Care and Finance over here. There are so few people who know how to use it that I'd never be without work. 8. @cjelliott: > is there no other program i can use? There are many ways to port forward. Try and find a UPnP system. If everything else fails find a dedicated box. Either using a friend's machine or renting a VPS.
  9. Or just have the updater as the default program.
  10. That's the old GUI. I had no say in that software at all. Get your facts right, O'Hara.
  11. @anthonyhow: > thank you all, it's something wrong with the code and not the visual basic. It was something wrong with your VB6 install. You didn't have the proper references so the needed controls wouldn't load. This lead to the error. People have a nasty habit of saving the project when this happens.
  12. Install SP6\. Re-download the source.
  13. @Esmeyana: > It's stereo, I don't know about sound things etc.. > But 2 days ago I just could hear the right sounds on the right side of the headphones and the left side on the left side of the headphones, now I hear all on both sides… > I am using the same headphones btw... Go to your sound settings and turn on stereo.
  14. Eclipse handles unlimited tilesets. You must have missed a number out.
  15. That's not hard. But 3D != stereo.
  16. Do you mean 3D or stereo?

    I have a problem

If you're even considering running a private server then you're in the wrong line of work. Hacking apart someone else's work does not constitute as game development.
  18. You're practically middle aged.

    Code Help?

God no. As nice as it is that you're realistic about your own abilities, you seem to be completely unaware of how complex programming a multiplayer online game is. If you don't know how to program to the point where you're trying to compile .NET syntax in a VB6 IDE then you shouldn't be doing anything nearly as complicated as this.
  20. I don't mind when people use my work for inspiration. It's when they literally copy and paste everything I do and claim they did it themselves. ;]
  21. Who cares? They're nothing. I've had people stealing my shit for 7 years now. None of them ever get anywhere. They think they can reach the same kind of success as my stuff. After a few months they realise their miserable excuse for a community is empty and devoid of activity and try and spam their links all over our forum. Rory, Sebastian and I are constantly building stuff up. If you try and copy me all you're going to have is a half-arsed, unpopular version of my work. When we move on to something new all that time and effort put in to the copy is made redundant and they need to start copying all my new stuff as well. All this results in is my work being as popular as it always is with a trail of unfinished copies behind it. Seriously, life is too short. Who cares about these kids? Let them have their fun. They need our pity, not our distaste. ;]

    Code Help?

@ĐØĊ: > I have both vb.net and vb6 I just simply don't know what I'm doing to be honest. Haha. Most honest thing I've ever heard. I like you.
