    > Seth you talking about the repo you haven't touched in months? Not to say that I doubt there's much done but…

We're working on it. There's commits going on daily now. There's a branch that is being worked on and such. Just I am finishing up Beta for Nin Online, while two other programmers are working on it.
  2. 2-D ORPGs are niche nowadays. The reason Eclipse was so big, because many indies wanted to make 2-D MMORPGs. This niche has actually shrunk a lot due to the less demand for 2-D ORPGs than in the early 2000s.

Although, I feel that there hasn't been a true successor to Robin's EO in almost 5 years. All these branched off engine are just simply expansions of that. It will take a really experienced developer really to usher in a new era for 2-D MMORPGs. That's kind of what I have been doing on the side, preparing for Nin Online's new engine. I haven't seen something better than EO available yet, and I am working on making that with our current team.
  3. @zynato, we use GitHub issues and a Roadmap page to track what needs to be done. You basically make a branch and then do a pull request. We're working similar to the Linux kernel in development.

I am continuing back on active development, updated main topic.

    > Well I compiled it and it didn't build correctly I then fixed the errors and compiled it again. At which point my pc crashed. 10/10 - IGN No but seriously wtf

Your PC crashed, a compiler won't crash your PC unless it is using a really ancient OS or compiler. Although, maybe the preview has bugs that cause crashes.

I will start contributing to this project, to combine resources together in order to port existing systems to a more modern OOP language.
  5. The problem is when people take what you say wrong, then when you correct they keep saying it wrong just to be toxic. That's what I mean when people say they are tolerant but really aren't. Don't want to work with other people or get along, they are fake.
  6. Let me just put it right out there, I am joking half the time and people are getting upset way too easy. I never am totally serious online, people are really sensitive in my generation and likewise have very thin skin. I never mean to attack anyone, I just test ideas and debate. Debating is a good way to iron out flaws in your thinking, many of which are flawed in both sides of the spectrum. I do not think any side is correct, because both spectrums are useful to an extent.

Testing ideas with other people is really fun for me, and it allows me to see perspectives way more clearly. Although, it seems like people get offended over anything nowadays. There's very little right-wing ideologies that are accepted, despite being Moderate and absolutely hating the left-wing spectrum in most cases since it has been a big issue with destroying empires throughout history. There are many examples of this, because the left-wing spectrum focuses on freedom where the right-wing focuses on control. Over time, the control of the people becomes unmanageable, because there's too many different types of people and ideals to keep the nation from being divided. The same thing is happening to America right now, look at the college kids who were never spanked or disciplined properly by their parents. Over time, the culture of the empire is destroyed by other cultures and ideas - the culture of a nation is what keeps the people's energy and such combined into a force. Nations like Rome, had this problem, the Western culture has this problem happening as well. It is dying, all cultures die due to the left-wing spectrum as I stated: rationalism and such are what destroy culture since culture is just part of the lie. Lies are good though, they are what keep us working together with millions of people.

Progressivism is part of life, things improve as they evolve. Obviously, left-wing is part of the evolution of culture and is something which is not changeable. Both spectrums are important: a giant empire forming in a left-wing spectrum is very difficult when compared to a right-wing spectrum since right-wing focuses on religious and traditional values. Religion has been a great tool to unite people for many thousands of years, it is the single-handed greatest invention we ever created. A lot of people hate religion, but it has fueled human cooperation for such a long time now. Everything has value, no matter what you say.

My entire arguments in the shoutbox were just demonstrating, when people claim something like being tolerant that they actually are the exact opposite of what they preach. That is all.
  7. If you are converting code which is not written as OO, how are you going to deal with this? I think it would be great to convert the code of a large codebase, to begin migrating code over to OO over time, but it may end up being more work than it saves. But best of luck, it seems like an interesting project.

Also, I believe if you convert the code over try to make the structs into classes if that is possible, another programmer can migrate the systems into a new engine over time to gather ideas, and make a new engine around the converted code and a new codebase. Sort of like a migration process.
  8. **Introduction**
I am finishing Vaughan Hilts game engine he worked in 2012-2013 for Silverdale HD and Blasters Online, at the time I was not a very good programmer. Now  that I have spent several years in C# and C++, I understand most programming principles and how  to make game engines to an extent from my experience of working on Nin Online. My goal is to replace Eclipse Origins with a true successor that is actually a giant step forward vs a small one.

You may contribute code to this repository, the license it uses is based on the same license that Inspire uses. Simply do a pull request or submit an issue on GitHub.

    **Getting Started**
    [Setup](https://github.com/HitsparkInteractive/Arcane-Engine/wiki/Getting-Started)
    [Roadmap](https://github.com/HitsparkInteractive/Arcane-Engine/wiki/Roadmap)

There're many more improvements I am going to make to the code that is not yet available. These will happen over the next 6 months. This project is aimed to eventually be the game engine Nin Online is ported to.

    **Setup**
You need to have MySQL installed, the database may not be fully functional. It will require some tinkering to understand the code and get it up and running, but it isn't that hard. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be writing tutorials when the engine is more mature.

    > Lol @Seth. New Eclipse Overlord, can we maybe expect a ban on this guy?

Look at the posts coming from the community. Grow up and go post on your own community.
  11. Ascension community is just a bunch of toxic people, who come here to try to start flame wars. Shows you how shit their community is with their dictator JC.
  12. @'Chief':

    > Seth pls

    @'SkywardRiver':

    > I believe BeNjO meant, "Underestimating"

Well if you are going to correct me for my grammar, you damn better do it right or you look worse than me. Like, can we please stop nitpicking grammar? You guys are being really funny.
  13. @'BeNjO':

    > @'Helladen':
    >
    > > Laugh all you want at me. Same morons who laughed at Trump and he's going to win the US election. Underestimate people is a dangerous thing indeed. It just means it is easy to pick people off, though since you guys don't take anything seriously around here.
    >
    > Underestimation *

"Underestimation people is a dangerous thing indeed." That makes sense to you?

Yes pls, thank you very much.
  14. Laugh all you want at me. Same morons who laughed at Trump and he's going to win the US election. Underestimate people is a dangerous thing indeed. It just means it is easy to pick people off, though since you guys don't take anything seriously around here.
  15. @'SkywardRiver':

    > No Helladen is corrupt. And my penis is bigger than yours because I say so.

Take a look at old Eclipse before Amish sold it to Link. It was run by JC. He is a bad community leader. Have fun living in fairytale land.
  16. @'SkywardRiver':

    > Or you know, ya'll can choose an ever-growing community of game-making hobbyists full of vets and nubs alike that's months away from a working C# engine.

No JC is corrupt. It isn't really a game dev. community either, a game dev. community actually produces stuff. it works together to improve the game engine.
